Celebrating the 34th anniversary of Vietnam Teachers’ Day in Dak Lak province (23/11/2016, 14:15)

On November 18th, Dak Lak Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to mark the 34th anniversary of Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20th) with the attendance of Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Eban Y Phu, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee as well as representatives of Central Highlands Steering Committee, Vietnam Fatherland front Committee of Dak Lak province and provincial departments, sectors and unions. 

Overview of the ceremony

In the ceremony, the delegates reviewed the noble tradition and meaning of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day over the past 34 years as well as stressed that “Education plays an important role in the development of the country”. Therefore, the society has paid much attention to education and training as well as honored teachers. In 1982, the Council of Ministers decided November 20th - as Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. Through 34 years, November 20th has become the festival of the country and marked nationwide. In Dak Lak province, the teaching staffs have constantly striven and made outstanding achievements, such as: being accredited for the universalization of education for children at age-5 by MOET; reaching the assigned targets on the percentage of schools at all levels gaining national standard; improving the comprehensive education stepbystep; attaching special importance to the key education; having maiden student to participate in the final round of the “Road to Olympia Peak”.

Beside recognizing and praising the sector’s achievements over past time, Vice Chairwoman H’Yim Kdoh also requested the education and training sector need to improve its quality more and more. Moreover, she said teachers should further study and train themselves to raise their moral qualities, political and professional qualifications, and set good examples for learners. Also she said the sector should renew programs, contents and teaching methods at all levels, focusing on training moral qualities as well as vocational guidance for students; strictly implement examinations, education quality accreditation, evaluation and assessment of students; improve infrastructures, teaching equipments as well as apply information technology in teaching activities.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training presented the Emulation Flags to 6 collectives, certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 5 individuals, medals for the cause of education and training to 874 individuals. Also on the occasion of the ceremony, 34 units, 6 collectives and 92 individuals received certificates of merit from the Provincial People’s Committee.
