The Buon Don Suspension Bridge Tourist Area – Island Village is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Dak Lak Province, located in Buon Don Commune. This site is considered a key highlight in the province’s strategy for promoting green and sustainable tourism.

According to Simexco Dak Lak, the purpose of the survey was not only to evaluate the current status and potential of the tourist area, but also to demonstrate the provincial government’s strong commitment to the strategic vision pursued by Simexco Dak Lak. This vision focuses on responsible tourism that is ecological, community-based, experiential, and cultural — emphasizing harmony between people and nature.

Simexco Dak Lak’s tourism model aims to connect ethnic minority villages, offering tourists opportunities to deeply engage with local cultural life through authentic experiences in cuisine, folk arts, and traditional crafts.

Simexco Dak Lak is also strategically cooperating with Yok Don National Park to expand tourism routes that explore the dry forest and the Serepok River, while preserving unique natural ecosystems. The development of “responsible tourism with elephants” is gradually shaping a model that avoids elephant riding, focusing instead on educational activities, care, and humane interaction with elephants in a close and respectful environment.

The aim is to establish a multi-layered community tourism ecosystem, where local residents are not only storytellers but also active partners in development and beneficiaries of their cultural values. With this orientation, tourism is not merely a service but also a cultural bridge, an economic driver, and a journey to sustainably and respectfully preserve traditional values.

At Dak Lak Museum, Chairman Ta Anh Tuan explored artifacts and exhibitions related to ethnic culture, scenic spots, and historical events of the province.
