On the morning of August 8th, the Representative Committee of the Elderly Association of Dak Lak Province organized the Fourth Conference to commend exemplary senior citizens for their outstanding economic contributions to the province from 2018 to 2023.

The conference was attended by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Y Bier Nie and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.

According to the report presented at the conference, the entire province has 154,695 senior citizens, with over 100,000 of them actively participating in labor, production, and service businesses. During the past period, the spirit of the "Elders - Bright Example" competition was consistently promoted. Elderly association members enthusiastically embraced the movement of economically skilled elderly individuals, bringing practical benefits and legitimate wealth to families and society. This has contributed to enhancing living standards and promoting socio-economic development at the local level, gradually building a thriving and prosperous province of Dak Lak.

Many families of elderly association members have shown interest in investing in agricultural production with a focus on market-oriented goods, gradually increasing the value of products. They have actively engaged in learning and applying scientific advancements to production, providing support in terms of plants, seeds, and interest-free loans. This has helped impoverished association members engage in production, develop family economies, and effectively contribute to poverty reduction.

Through evaluations from various levels of the Association, the province currently has 1,006 individuals who meet the criteria of economically skilled elderly individuals at the grassroots level, 130 at the district level, 12 at the provincial level, and 7 at the central level.

In addition to the achievements, the local movement of economically skilled elderly individuals also faces some difficulties and limitations. These include challenges in terms of propagating the purpose and significance of the movement, as well as the slow implementation of the movement in some places. The scale of deployment of the movement is still relatively small, and the application of scientific and technical advancements needs improvement, resulting in low product quality and a lack of competitiveness in the market.

Commending and awarding certificates to outstanding economically skilled elderly individuals

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Y Bier Nie recognized and praised the achievements of economically skilled senior citizens during the 2018-2023 period. He also suggested that in the coming time, the representative committees of elderly associations at all levels within the province should continue to strengthen propaganda efforts, mobilize members and senior citizens to fully understand the purpose, significance, and importance of the Elderly Economic Excellence Movement. They should promote the intelligence and experience of the elderly, who serve as bright examples, to actively participate in patriotic movements, encourage the younger generation to excel in production, business, and services, and promote legitimate wealth. It is important to effectively coordinate with specialized agencies to implement and apply scientific and technical advancements to production and livestock farming. Elderly citizens, households, and businesses should actively contribute to environmental protection and social welfare. Party committees and local authorities at all levels should continue to leverage the role of senior citizens in construction, suggestions, critiques, supervision, and the implementation of policies, making them a backbone in various patriotic movements.

Awarding certificates of commendation to outstanding economically skilled senior citizens

The conference commended and awarded certificates of provincial-level economically skilled elderly individuals to 12 senior citizens. The Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of commendation to 7 senior citizens, and the Representative Committee of the Elderly Association of Dak Lak Province awarded certificates of appreciation to 5 senior citizens who have achieved remarkable success in the Fourth Conference's movement of exemplary senior citizens for outstanding economic contributions from 2018 to 2023.
