On the morning of October 30, in Pleiku City (Gia Lai province), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with the People's Committees of the Central Highlands provinces, organized the Investment Promotion Conference in Agriculture and Rural Areas in the Central Highlands. The conference was held online, connecting to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development under the chairmanship of Minister Le Minh Hoan.

The conference on investment promotion in agriculture and rural areas in the Central Highlands in 2024 was attended and chaired by Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province Vo Van Canh; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Nong province Le Trong Yen; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai province Duong Mah Tiep; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kon Tum province Nguyen Huu Thap. The conference was attended by leaders of departments and agencies of the 5 provinces in the Central Highlands and over 100 associations, enterprises, and cooperatives.

At the conference, delegates provided information on the advantages, potentials, mechanisms, and policies to encourage investment in the local agriculture sector of the Central Highlands provinces; shared experiences, built close and sustainable linkages to promote the modern and sustainable development of agriculture in the Central Highlands.

In addition, businesses are also concerned about the consistency in mechanisms and policies within the local management hierarchy; the transparency and equality among investors, the fairness of the officials; the procedures and processes when participating in investments; the safety level when investing locally...

In his directive speech at the conference, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan emphasized: The Central Highlands is a vast region, and its value space is significant, not only limited to red basalt soil, industrial trees... Therefore, localities and enterprises need to rethink to develop extensively across the entire Central Highlands region, not just within the framework of one locality; need to exploit in a multi-valued direction, the ecosystem of the agriculture sector. Furthermore, enterprises are not only investors but also consultants for localities to open up new value spaces for agriculture in the Central Highlands; together with localities to solve livelihood issues for ethnic minority people. However, the Central Highlands still faces challenges regarding land, so localities need to sit down with investors to clarify responsibilities and solve together; any issues beyond the locality's scope should be submitted to relevant ministries and agencies for consideration and resolution...
