Congress of Ethnic Minority Delegates in Krong Ana District (13/06/2024, 09:06)

On June 7, 2024, Krong Ana District held the fourth Congress of Ethnic Minority Delegates.

Attending the Congress were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van, representatives of the District Party Committee, District People's Council, District People's Committee, various district departments, and 150 official delegates.

Krong Ana District has 21,913 households, with over 82,000 people, of which ethnic minorities make up 23.54%. In recent years, the district's socio-economic situation has seen considerable development, with continuous investment and construction in rural infrastructure. Production, business, services, and key economic sectors in the district have also progressed positively.

From 2019 to 2024, Krong Ana District effectively implemented programs such as: Program 135, which supported over 1.1 billion VND for production development and over 4.8 billion VND for infrastructure investment, resulting in 21 completed projects; Program 1719, which allocated nearly 37 billion VND to implement component projects and provide comprehensive support in various economic, social, and cultural aspects in ethnic minority areas.

Currently, the district has 5 communes recognized as new rural standards and 1 commune awaiting recognition. The district has achieved 129/133 new rural criteria and 45/95 advanced new rural criteria. The average per capita income in the 7 communes is over 48.7 million VND/year; for ethnic minority villages, the average is 39 million VND/year. The poverty rate among ethnic minorities in the area decreased by 2.6% from 2019 to 2020 (according to the poverty standard for 2016-2020) and by 8.81% from 2021 to 2023 (according to the poverty standard for 2022-2025).

Military and defense work has been implemented comprehensively; political security and social order in the district have been maintained. The work of building the Party and the political system from the district to the grassroots level has achieved positive results, with the leadership capacity and combativeness of Party organizations and members increasingly strengthened. The effectiveness of government management and administration at all levels has gradually improved, contributing to stability and creating favorable conditions for people to feel secure in labor, production, and business.

With the spirit of “Ethnic groups united, innovative, leveraging strengths and potential, integrating and developing sustainably,” the delegates at the Congress contributed many heartfelt, responsible opinions, proposing solutions to strengthen the great national unity bloc; develop the economy and society; ensure defense and security while preserving cultural identity... thereby enhancing the quality of ethnic work for the 2024-2029 period.

The Congress unanimously elected 9 official delegates to attend the fourth Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in Dak Lak in 2024.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to one collective and two individuals; the Provincial Committee for Ethnic Affairs awarded Certificates of Merit to one collective and three individuals; the Krong Ana District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to five collectives and 16 individuals for outstanding achievements in socio-economic development and ensuring defense and security in ethnic minority areas for the 2019-2024 period.
