On June 7, the Union of Scientific and Technical Associations of Dak Lak Province announced that the Vietnam Technological Creativity Support Fund has recently organized the Ceremony to summarize and award the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award (VIFOTEC Award) 2023 to 47 outstanding projects nationwide. Among them, Dak Lak Province has 2 projects selected for the award.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Chairman of the Union of Vietnam Scientific and Technical Associations Phan Xuan Dung presented the First Prize to the authors of the First Prize-winning projects.
They are the project "Hybrid coffee variety TRS1" by MSc. Dinh Thi Tieu Oanh, Tay Nguyen Institute of Forestry Science and Technology, winning the First Prize, and the project "Preparation of compressed tablets containing total extract of whole Polyscias fruticosa (L) Harms plants grown in Dak Lak" by MSc. Le Trung Khoang, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Buon Ma Thuot, winning the Encouragement Prize. Among 130 participating projects, the Jury selected 47 outstanding projects, awarding 4 First Prizes (VND 80 million each), 10 Second Prizes (VND 60 million each), 16 Third Prizes (VND 40 million each), and 17 Encouragement Prizes (VND 20 million each). The Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award is held annually to award authors with scientific and technological works of great scientific, economic, and social value, conducted in Vietnam, to encourage, honor, and recognize the outstanding contributions of the authors and to encourage further research and application of advanced scientific and technological achievements to serve production and life, thereby bringing about increasingly high economic and social efficiency. In 2023, the Award focused on evaluating scientific works in 6 fields: Information Technology, Electronics, and Telecommunications; Mechanical and Automation Engineering; Biology for Production and Life; Material Technology; Technologies for Coping with Climate Change, Environmental Protection, and Rational Use of Resources; Energy Saving and Utilization of New Energy Sources. Through 28 editions since its establishment in 1995, the Award has gradually affirmed its prestige in the field of scientific and technological innovation, being highly appreciated by domestic scientists and international friends. It also affirms the talent, intelligence, and creativity of Vietnamese people in all fields. The selected award-winning projects are based on their novelty, creativity, wide applicability, economic efficiency, benefits to the community, and society.
