On the morning of February 3, the provincial People's Committee organized a New Year's meeting to assess the situation before, during, and after the Lunar New Year festival of the Year of the Snake 2025.
Attending the meeting were key officials including: Nguyen Tuan Ha – Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Truong Cong Thai – Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thien Van – Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.


Comrade Nguyen Tuan Ha – Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee delivered directives at the program.
According to the assessment of the provincial People's Committee, the entire province organized visits, gifts, and New Year wishes for 334 agencies and units, with a total budget of 1.281 million VND. At the provincial level, 17 provincial delegations were established to visit and present gifts to 46 units in the armed forces, various administrative agencies, and 10 exemplary individuals recognized for their contributions. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the entire province organized visits and gifts for 258,252 individuals and households, with a total budget of 123.451,3 million VND.


Comrade Nguyen Duc Vinh – Chief of the provincial People's Committee Office reported on the situation before, during, and after the Lunar New Year.
The province mobilized resources from socialization and utilized local budgets to care for and provide New Year gifts to low-income households in the area. During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, 60,035 out of 62,085 low-income households received New Year gifts, totaling 70,078 gift packs, with a budget of 30.332 million VND. The province also provided rice relief during the Lunar New Year for 15,880 households, covering 60,044 individuals, totaling 900.66 tons of rice.

Businesses awarded the Lunar New Year bonus for the Year of the Snake 2025 to approximately 10,233 employees, with an average bonus of 1.65 million VND per person, the highest being 80 million VND, and the lowest at 100,000 VND. The average Lunar New Year bonus for the Year of the Snake 2025 was 6.13 million VND per person, with a maximum of 94 million VND and a minimum of 200,000 VND. All enterprises paid their employees' salaries for January 2025. Fourteen out of fifteen localities paid social support benefits for January and February ahead of the Lunar New Year to nearly 69,000 beneficiaries, with a budget of 86.29806 million VND.


Comrade Truong Cong Thai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee contributed his opinions.
The Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with businesses to ensure sufficient and diverse goods for public purchasing needs, preventing shortages and price surges that could disrupt the market. For essential items under the price stabilization program, businesses demonstrated good compliance with commitments to maintain essential goods at stable prices or 5-10% lower than market prices throughout the holiday period. 5-10% trong suốt dịp Tết.

Dinh Xuan Dieu – Head of the Management Board of Provincial Industrial Zones proposed a development plan for industrial parks in the locality.
Total budget revenue as of January 31, 2025, reached 1.639.358 million VND, achieving 20.86% of the central government's target and 18.22% of the provincial People's Council's target. Total tourism revenue in the province during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025 (from January 29 to February 2, 2025) was estimated at 60 billion VND, an increase of 33% compared to the same period last year, with an estimated average room occupancy rate of 53%. The total number of guests welcomed was estimated at 180,000, an increase of 24.14% compared to the same period, including approximately 177,000 domestic visitors (up 23.71%) and 3,000 international visitors (up 55.84%).
Regarding security and order, law enforcement increased patrol and control efforts, focusing on strictly handling violations that directly caused traffic accidents, especially violations related to alcohol levels, speeding, and drug use while operating vehicles.
As of February 2, 2025, there were eight incidents across seven districts, towns, and cities, resulting in seven fatalities, five injuries, and damage to 12 vehicles (the number of incidents remained unchanged, with two more deaths and two fewer injuries compared to the same period in 2024). The traffic police detected and handled 1,651 violations, temporarily seizing 423 vehicles, revoking 55 driving licenses, with estimated fines reaching 5 billion VND (including 332 violations related to alcohol and 497 for speeding).


Luu Van Khoi – Director of the Department of Industry and Trade reported on the implementation of solar energy projects.
The agricultural sector is organizing the Tree Planting Festival and ensuring adequate water supply for production; strengthening quarantine measures, slaughtering of livestock and poultry, ensuring safety in animal health and food hygiene; implementing effective plans to prevent forest encroachment, illegal exploitation and transportation of forest products; ensuring around-the-clock monitoring and timely response to forest fire incidents.
During the meeting, the provincial People’s Committee listened to the leaders of relevant departments and sectors evaluate and discuss key tasks for 2025, including: expanding industrial zones, establishing specialized economic zones; land use planning, implementing wind energy projects; mobilizing sponsorship for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025; developing a socioeconomic growth scenario; resolving investment procedure obstacles for key projects.
In his remarks at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha urged departments and sectors to mobilize resources for socioeconomic development, striving to achieve double-digit growth targets set by the Prime Minister; enhancing coordination among departments, localities, and central agencies operating in the area; adapting leadership methods to align with the era of development; formulating policies to support impoverished coffee producers; focusing on drafting proposals for accelerated growth aimed at achieving double-digit targets to be presented to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party; registering for groundbreaking ceremonies of key projects and thoroughly preparing for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025.
