On October 3rd, Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) held a Conference chaired by PPC Chairman Pham Ngoc Nghi on reviewing the performance of socio-economic development task, safeguarding national defense and security in the province and setting up tasks of the last three months of 2017.

Overview of the conference

According to the report at the conference, in the first nine months of 2017, total Gross Domestic Product was estimated at VND 26,406 billion, accounted 55.12% of the plan, up 6.79% over the identical period last year. 
Besides, the production value of agriculture, forestry and fishery reached 27.49%; the production value of construction industry was estimated to reach 22.1%; the production value of services reached an estimate of 47.85%. The province’s total social investment capital in nine beginning months of the year gained VND 16,378 billion, represented 82.76% of the plan, rose 34.99% against the same period last year. 
Export turnovers by the end of September, 2017 was estimated to reach US$ 490 million, accounted for 85.96% of the plan and grew by 27.3% from the similar period last year.

In addition, import turnovers in reached an estimate of US$ 37 million, equaled 308.3% of the plan and increased by 320.35 from 2016’s same period. Total estimated government revenues in the province in nine beginning months achieved over VND 3.541 trillion, equaled 87.96% of the estimate assigned by the Central Committee and 78.69% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, a rise of 27.6% over the same period in 2016.

As of September 2017, the province had 56,560 hectares of Winter-Spring crop cultivated, exceeding 12,644 ha of plan, reaching 129%. In nine beginning months, the province has received 200 investors who are interested in the key projects of the province and guided them the provincial investment procedures as well as well as providing them with information on the list of investment calling, investment environment and incentives policies. In addition, the province has attracted 48 investment projects with a total registered capital of VND 3,033 billion, grew by three projects and surged 2.4 times higher than the same period of 2016.

Generally, in nine beginning months of the year, the provincial agencies and localities has continued to effectively safeguard national defense and security in the province. The performance of military-service work in the province reached 100% of target, at the same time, organized military trainning  at defend areas in three districts of Buon Don, M'Drak, Krong Ana and Buon Ho town. Moreover, the popular mobilization work and the twinning activities in the province have been promoted; the politic security, social order and safety has also been maintained.

In order to successfully achieve the target of socio-economic development in the last 3 months of 2017, PPC Chairman Pham Ngoc Nghi asked the departments and agencies to focus on the State budget collection as well as taking prompt measures to collect revenues for the State budget; continue to urge investors and units to accelerate the progress of projects and disbursement under the PPC’s direction.  At the same time, he asks the agencies and units to actively coordinate with the relevant ministries and branches in mobilizing funding for projects in urban infrastructure, agricultural and rural development, and other socialization projects.
