Declaration of Community Tourism in Buon Tri, Krong Na Commune (15/03/2024, 08:13)

Recently, in Krong Na commune, Buon Don district, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Dak Lak province organized the ceremony to declare community tourism in Buon Tri.

Buon Tri, located in Krong Na commune, was established in 1977. The village currently has 117 stilt houses, inhabited by 12 ethnic groups including Lao, Ede, Kinh, Mnong, Ja Rai... It is one of the tourism development villages in Buon Don district due to its preservation of diverse and unique traditional cultural identities of the ethnic groups. It hosts many traditional festivals such as water wharf worshiping, health praying for elephants, gong festival, traditional cultural festivals of ethnic groups, Buon Don Elephant Festival, Punimay Tet, and offers rich and enticing cuisine. Additionally, Buon Tri also features ecological, cultural, and historical attractions, being a legendary land famous for hunting and taming forest elephants. The locals are friendly towards tourists.

Based on the potential, strengths, and aspirations of the local people, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism proposed to the provincial People's Committee to select Buon Tri village for support and investment in developing community tourism. This support and investment aim to provide conditions for local residents to improve their lives and increase income, revive and preserve traditional festivals, conserve and promote the beauty of Lao culture in particular, and ethnic cultures in general, attract tourists for sightseeing and experiences, promote OCOP products associated with tourism development, and build it into a distinctive community tourism destination of the province.

It is noted that Buon Tri, Krong Na commune, is the second community tourism village in the province after Ako Dhong village (Tan Loi ward, Buon Ma Thuot city).
