On the afternoon of June 13, the first working delegation of the Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, led by Central Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung, held a meeting with the Standing Committee of Buon Don District Party Committee to discuss the implementation of tasks in the first six months and the key tasks for the last six months of 2024.

The delegation included Ms. Huynh Thi Chien Hoa, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. H’Yim Kdoh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's organizational departments; and leaders of relevant provincial departments and sectors. From Buon Don district, Ms. Lai Thi Loan, District Party Secretary; Mr. Pham Trung Nghia, Deputy District Party Secretary and Chairman of the District People's Committee; and representatives of relevant district departments and units were present.

According to the report presented at the meeting, in the first six months of 2024, the socio-economic development and defense-security situation in Buon Don district saw many positive results, with numerous targets met and exceeded. The total production value of the district reached 2,989 billion VND, an increase of 7.91% compared to the same period in 2023; nearly 22,465 hectares of crops were planted, achieving 87.643% of the plan; the total state budget revenue in the area exceeded 35.32 billion VND, reaching 58.9% of the district's estimate; the district met 96 out of 133 new rural criteria, an increase of six criteria compared to the same period.
Social welfare policies addressing employment, poverty reduction, and the regimes and policies for people with meritorious services and social protection beneficiaries were fully and timely implemented. Healthcare, education, culture, sports, and information dissemination activities were well-attended, meeting the people's needs. Administrative reform efforts were effectively carried out. Party building and the development of the political system were strengthened and consolidated, defense-security was ensured, and political security and social order were maintained.

Regarding the implementation of the goals and tasks of the 6th District Party Congress's Resolution for the 2020-2025 term, there were positive changes. Most targets are expected to be met by 2025, specifically: all eight economic target groups are projected to be achieved; social-environmental targets are basically met; defense-security targets are on track with the set plan.
Despite these achievements, Buon Don district still faces several difficulties and limitations such as: inconsistent state management of land and construction order in some areas; the progress of basic construction projects not meeting the plan, and low disbursement of capital; unresolved environmental pollution issues at local landfills affecting people's living conditions and production.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of Buon Don District Party Committee proposed several issues to the working delegation, including: considering a specific mechanism for the border district of Buon Don; allocating funds for essential infrastructure in the district center to facilitate the establishment of Buon Don town; directing relevant departments and sectors to support the early approval of the comprehensive economic-social development project for Buon Drang Phok, Krong Na commune, Buon Don district to stabilize the population and secure border security; implementing a gravity-fed water project to ensure water for agricultural production; and directing relevant departments to address issues related to free migrants living in subzones 436, 440, and 453, and prioritizing investment projects to leverage Buon Don's terrain for adventure sports and tourism, aiming to host national and international adventure sports events.

In his remarks, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Party committee, government, and people of Buon Don district. He also urged the district's Standing Committee to focus on leading and directing the successful completion of the 2024 targets; accelerating the progress of basic construction projects; enhancing patrols and control to protect border security; intensifying efforts against crime and social evils; maintaining political security and social order; and continuing to strengthen Party building and the development of a clean, strong political system. He also emphasized the importance of preparing for the Party Congress at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.
Regarding some of the district's proposals discussed and clarified at the meeting, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed hope that the Buon Don District Party Committee would maintain solidarity, actively and flexibly coordinate with provincial departments to overcome difficulties and implement effective solutions. They should continue to care for the people's lives, ensuring stability and maintaining social order in the district.
