A delegation of the U.S. Embassy led by Ambassador Ted Osius paid a visit to Dak Lak on September 22, aiming at learning about the provincial socio-economic development, seeking investment and cooperation opportunities in the near future. Mr. Y Dham Enoul – PPC Standing Vice Chairman, and representatives from relevant departments welcomed the delegation.
During the reception, Mr. Y Dham Enoul – Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC briefed Dak Lak’s achievements in economics, society, security, and politics over the past years; potential opportunities with competitive benefits that the province has been calling for investment. Y Dham Enoul also expressed his hope to strengthen the cooperation with the U.S. businesses in many fields focusing on high-tech processing for agricultural products with comparative advantages, wind power, tourism, etc.
On behalf of the delegation, Ambassador Ted Osius expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of Dak Lak Province. He also congratulated Viet Nam in general and Dak Lak in particular on theirs achievements and progress over the past years. At the reception, the Ambassador said the delegation’s visit aims to focus on cooperation programs in fields of health, education, wind power, and Pacific Angel program aiming to invest and upgrade the healthcare facilities in the regions of ethnic minorities, implement the construction of Primary School in Krong Bong District. In addition, the delegation also closely coordinates with American Chamber of Commerce to support the Provincial Competitiveness Index for localities. Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy will pay high attention to propose U.S. investors to make surveys, enhance investment cooperation in infrastructure for the border areas, English training programs, and cultural exchanges as well as enhance the management capability for provincial civil servants who serve in international integration.
Mr. Y Dham Enuol – PPC Standing Vice Chairman wishing the visit of the U.S. Embassy delegation to Dak Lak would achieve goals as expected. He also hopes that the U.S. Embassy will continue to serve as a particularly important bridge to promote the potential and advantages of Dak Lak Province with the U.S. government, organizations and businesses. This shall open the opportunities for both two parties to cooperate and exploit the potential of the current advantages most effectively.
During the working visit to the province, the delegation of the U.S. Embassy made field surveys and worked with several units: Tay Nguyen University, Central Highland Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Nguyen Du Gifted High School, Cacao Development Center – Green Highland JSC in Eakar District.
