Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Holds Press Meeting on Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (24/06/2024, 15:38)

On June 18, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak Province organized a press meeting to commemorate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024).

Attendees included Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; leaders from related departments and sectors; and representatives of central and local news agencies, journalists, and broadcasters operating in the province.

Dak Lak's agriculture is identified as one of the three key areas needing prioritized investment, serving as a foundation for the province's socio-economic development. Despite numerous challenges, the agricultural sector has affirmed its role as the cornerstone of the provincial economy. The average annual growth rate of the province's agricultural sector during 2021-2023 reached 5.86%, significantly contributing to the overall growth of the province.

In the first six months of 2024, agricultural, forestry, and fishery production continued to develop steadily, with the yield and output of major crops and livestock meeting or exceeding the set targets. Specifically, the total value of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products was estimated at 7,313 billion VND, reaching 31.11% of the plan and increasing by 4.38% compared to the same period in 2023; the value of agricultural, forestry, and fishery production was 17,805 billion VND, up 4.4% from the same period in 2023. The proportion of certified agricultural products also increased compared to the same period in 2023. The national target program for new rural construction continued to be widely and effectively implemented. As of now, 78 out of 151 communes have met all 19 new rural criteria, accounting for 51.66%, an increase of four communes compared to the same period in 2023.

In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duong acknowledged and appreciated the efforts and positive contributions of the news agencies and journalists who have accompanied the agricultural sector, providing timely and accurate information to businesses and residents in the province. The press has delved deeply into grassroots levels, closely reflecting real-life, promoting, motivating, and extensively showcasing the achievements in socio-economic development, defense, and security; advertising the province's potentials, strengths, and achievements in general and the agricultural sector in particular to the people nationwide and international friends. Additionally, the press has candidly pointed out difficulties, obstacles, and policy inadequacies, as well as shortcomings in implementation, helping the agricultural sector take timely leadership and corrective measures.

Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duong expressed his hope that in the future, news agencies would continue to share, care for, and capture information promptly, accurately, and objectively, actively disseminating the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws within the province; highlighting successful models and exemplary farmers, spreading and inspiring the entrepreneurial spirit and wealth-building on the homeland to all people; and promptly reflecting the legitimate opinions and aspirations of the people in agriculture and rural development.

At the meeting, journalists and reporters expressed their gratitude for the support and assistance from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development over the past time and made several suggestions to facilitate their work in the agricultural sector.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also took note of the feedback from the journalists and reporters in attendance to enhance the effectiveness of communication efforts in the future. The feedback provides valuable information to support the agricultural sector in advising provincial leaders on making sound decisions regarding local agricultural work.

In the future, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to actively collaborate, support, and accompany news agencies in activities to enhance communication efficiency, ensuring lawful and effective press operations, fulfilling their assigned missions, and contributing to building a prosperous, civilized, and distinctive Dak Lak province.
