On the evening of September 14th, in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers organized the "Lighting Lanterns to Illuminate Dreams" Mid-Autumn program with the theme "Enjoying School with Mid-Autumn Festival". The program was attended by Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, member of the Politburo and Deputy Prime Minister.

The program was also attended by comrades Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; comrade Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; comrade Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Young Pioneers, and leaders of central ministries, departments, and organizations.

From Dak Lak province, there were comrades Nguyen Dinh Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, and organizations in the province.
At the Mid-Autumn program, more than 1,700 underprivileged children from various localities in the province enjoyed exciting performances and interacted with their peers at different locations.

The Central Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers presented 200 gifts to underprivileged children in the province. Among them, 100 children received gifts worth 1.8 million VND each (including a 1 million VND scholarship, a school bag, and a Mid-Autumn gift), and 100 children received gifts worth 2.3 million VND each (including a bicycle and a Mid-Autumn gift). In addition, the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers also presented 500 gift sets, each worth 550,000 VND (including a school bag and a Mid-Autumn gift) to 500 children; the Provincial Youth Union and units in the province presented 1,000 gift sets to children participating in the program.

On this occasion, the Central Youth Union and the Central Youth Council have also presented numerous projects, scholarships, and gifts to children in Dak Lak province and other localities nationwide, with a total value of nearly 13 billion Vietnamese dong. Among them, the resources donated to children in provinces and cities affected by Typhoon Yagi amount to nearly 7 billion Vietnamese dong.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, affirmed that our Party and State always uphold the viewpoint of dedicating the best for children, the future seeds of the country. At the same time, he proposed that all levels of government, ministries, departments, organizations, parents, teachers, youth union members, social workers, and businesses should continue to take more practical actions, care, and create the most favorable resources and conditions for all children, regardless of their age, educational level, whether they are in the mountains or plains, border areas or remote islands, to have opportunities for play, learning, and comprehensive development, to live in love, in a safe and healthy environment...

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also acknowledged and praised the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers for organizing the "Mid-Autumn Festival for Children" program nationwide for the past 12 years, and for the meaningful initiative of organizing the "Lighting Lanterns to Illuminate Dreams" program since 2021, which carries great humanitarian value.

The "Lighting Lanterns to Illuminate Dreams" Mid-Autumn program, which took place from September 5th to September 17th, 2024, was organized by youth organizations at all levels and pioneer units with various activities. Over 6 million lanterns and Mid-Autumn gifts are being presented to underprivileged children, children living in poor families, children of young workers, children in remote areas, border and island regions, children living in shelters, open houses, child care and education centers, centers for disabled children, children affected by severe illnesses, orphaned children, and children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic nationwide, especially children in areas affected by storms and floods. The Central Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers have presented over 15,000 lanterns and Mid-Autumn gifts to children in 18 provinces and cities, including Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Cao Bang, Bắc Kạn, Hà Giang, Sơn La, Hòa Bình, Ninh Thuận, Trà Vinh, Hậu Giang, Bạc Liêu, Đắk Lắk, Gia Lai, Đắk Nông, Kon Tum, and Lâm Đồng.
During the journey "Lighting Lanterns to Illuminate Dreams" in Dak Lak Province, the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization organized various meaningful activities with a profound humanitarian spirit for children under the theme "Mid-Autumn Festival, Joyfully Going to School Together". These activities included an exhibition of photos showcasing the journey "Lighting Lanterns to Illuminate Dreams" from all 63 provinces and cities, organizing fun activities, experiences, and exchanges for children, inaugurating and presenting the "Space for Reading, Interacting, and Youth Activities", setting up Mid-Autumn Festival displays and lantern decorations, and lantern processions and lion dances.
