Enhancing Patrols, Inspections, and Handling Violations of Traffic Order and Safety (13/06/2024, 09:54)

On June 6th, the People's Committee of Krong Ana District held a conference to evaluate the results of ensuring traffic order and safety in the first six months of the year and to implement tasks for the last six months of 2024.

The report at the conference stated that in the first six months of 2024, various levels, sectors, localities, and units in Krong Ana district actively coordinated efforts to ensure traffic order and safety in the area. They vigorously promoted propaganda efforts, especially in schools, to educate about traffic order and safety. Over the past six months, the district witnessed 8 traffic accidents, resulting in 10 deaths, 2 injuries, damage to 9 vehicles, and estimated property damage of 19 million VND. The authorities conducted 504 patrols with 2,280 officers participating, issuing 1,799 administrative violation records and temporarily impounding 647 vehicles.

However, the traffic order and safety situation in the district remains complex, with an increase in the number of deaths compared to the same period in 2023. Some traffic participants still lack awareness and compliance with traffic order and safety laws; the encroachment on roadways and traffic safety corridors remains complex and unresolved.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee, and Head of the District Traffic Safety Committee, delivered a directive speech at the conference.

At the conference, the delegates discussed and proposed recommendations and solutions to ensure traffic order and safety achieves good results in the last six months of 2024. These include focusing on enhancing the effectiveness of propaganda, dissemination, and legal education about traffic order and safety; addressing high-risk accident spots, reviewing the signage system and traffic safety components; overcoming inadequacies in road traffic infrastructure to facilitate safe and convenient travel for people and vehicles; strengthening and improving the efficiency of patrols, inspections, and handling of traffic order and safety violations; and promoting the effectiveness of joint patrol models between traffic police and other police forces.
