On the afternoon of October 11, in Hanoi, the Foreign Information Work Steering Committee organized a national conference to research and implement Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to enhance the quality and efficiency of foreign information work in the new context.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Head of the Central Committee's Propaganda Department, and Head of the Foreign Information Work Steering Committee, attended and presided over the conference.

The conference was connected online with localities and Vietnam's representative agencies abroad. At the Dak Lak point, attendees included Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Tan, members of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee, members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, representatives from departments, agencies, units, and localities.

Over the past 10 years of implementing Conclusion No. 16-KL/TW, dated February 14, 2012, by the 11th Party Central Committee on the development strategy of foreign information work for the 2011-2020 period, foreign information work has achieved important results. It has contributed to enhancing Vietnam's position and reputation on the international stage, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, refuting wrong and hostile viewpoints, and thwarting schemes to undermine the Party, the state, the renovation cause, the nation-building process, and the defense of the Fatherland. Through foreign information work, we have introduced to international friends a Vietnam that is politically stable, rich in potential, always striving for cooperation and global peace. Vietnam is an active and responsible member of the international community, thereby helping the world gain a better, deeper understanding of Vietnam and strengthening the emotional connection of international friends with Vietnam.

Delegates attending virtually in Dak Lak

At the conference, the delegates were informed about the core content and guidelines for the implementation of Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW, dated June 15, 2023, by the Politburo on continuing to enhance the quality and efficiency of foreign information work in the new context. The delegates also received information about improving the effectiveness of Party and people's foreign information work, the global and regional context, and the challenges posed to foreign information work in the new situation, as well as the draft outline of the government's action program for implementing Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW, dated June 15, 2023, of the Politburo on continuing to enhance the quality and efficiency of foreign information work in the new context.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Head of the Foreign Information Work Steering Committee, and Head of the Central Committee's Propaganda Department, affirmed the achievements of foreign information work in general and the Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work in particular over the past ten years.

The conference is attended by delegates from various locations in and outside the country

The Politburo's guidelines and directions at the Central Committee's mid-term meeting, the 8th Central Committee's meeting of the 13th term, the focal points, significance, and role of Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW, dated June 15, 2023, were emphasized. Comrade Nguyễn Trọng Nghĩa suggested that the leaders of the central member units of the Steering Committee, the provincial and city Steering Committees need to further enhance their roles and responsibilities in leadership, direction, management, research, learning, and implementation of Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW of the Politburo.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia also proposed that the leaders of the central member units of the Steering Committee, the provincial and city Steering Committees should raise awareness among cadres, Party members, and the people about the importance of foreign information work, Vietnam's foreign policies, and build action programs and plans to effectively implement Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW. Furthermore, a focus should be placed on developing and improving the quality of the leadership and direction of the Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work from the central to grassroots levels. It is essential to continue building and nurturing a team of officials engaged in foreign information work.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia stressed the necessity of mobilizing all resources in terms of human resources, material resources, and financial resources, both domestically and abroad, to effectively serve the tasks of foreign information work. This contributes to the successful realization of the country's development goals set by the 13th National Party Congress until 2030 and the vision for 2045.
