Exhibition "Resilience - Inspiring Stories of Women for Change" (12/10/2023, 08:57)

On the morning of July 19th, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in collaboration with the World Coffee Museum, organized the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Resilience - Inspiring Stories of Women for Change." The exhibition aims to honor the strength and resilience of women and is held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Netherlands and Vietnam, in collaboration with Des Heus, JDE peet’s, Lacàph, Hoi An Roastery, and WPP.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Y Bier Nie - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of departments, experts in culture, and a large number of visitors. The exhibition "Resilience - Inspiring Stories of Women for Change" is the Netherlands' commitment to women's rights and gender equality. It showcases artistic photo works by 17 photographers from 13 countries worldwide, featuring stories that convey the voices and deep insights into the lives of women who have overcome challenges, adversities, and difficulties to rise above.

According to the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, this special exhibition was previously held in the Netherlands in 2021 and received a strong response from the public in the Tulip Kingdom.

In his opening speech, Mr. Daniël Stork, the Consul General of the Netherlands, honored the contributions of women and expressed respect for their resilience, both in Vietnam and around the world. "Through the images of the exhibition, we will gain a better understanding of the lives of these women who have overcome hardships and become beacons for positive change. Their unwavering spirit and determination have shaped a better society for themselves and those around them. I am honored to share these fascinating stories with the people of Vietnam, especially in the context of celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Netherlands and Vietnam," said Mr. Daniël Stork.

 

Panel discussion Stories of Change-Inspiring Women

During the exhibition's opening ceremony, a short panel discussion with the same theme was also held. It featured special guests from the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, such as Dr. Pham Quoc Loc - Rector of the Pacific Ocean University, Miss Universe Vietnam H'Hen Nie, representatives from Jacobs Douwe Egberts Vietnam, and representatives from De Heus Vietnam. Female guests at the panel discussion shared their personally inspiring stories of resilience and their journey of overcoming difficulties and challenges to achieve success and a certain position in society.

As a "museum of the future," the World Coffee Museum's exhibition activities have been expanding in recent years, introducing and exchanging culture in various fields both domestically and internationally, and have received high praise from experts for the quality of content as well as enthusiastic reception from the public. It is worth noting that in 2023, the World Coffee Museum is preparing to welcome its 5 millionth visitor after 5 years of operation.
