Focus on mobilizing capital for lending to key sectors and projects of the province. (10/01/2025, 17:00)

On the morning of January 10, the State Bank of Vietnam - Dak Lak Province Branch (SBV) organized a conference to review banking activities for the year 2024 and implement tasks for the year 2025.

Attending the conference were members of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha; Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Thi Thu Nguyet; leaders of banking sectors and credit institutions in the province.

In 2024, credit institutions in the province effectively carried out the key tasks of the banking sector, directing credit towards production and business sectors in accordance with government policy, ensuring safe and effective credit activities. The total mobilized capital reached 96.537 trillion VND (an increase of over 16.1% compared to the beginning of 2024). Total outstanding loans to the economy reached 168.595 trillion VND, an increase of 11.05% (equating to an increase of 16.773 trillion VND) compared to the beginning of 2024; among which, loans to the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors accounted for 38.730 trillion VND, industry and construction for 18.140 trillion VND, and commerce and services for 111.725 trillion VND.

The management of credit institutions was directed to prioritize mobilizing capital to support lending to prioritized, key sectors with advantages in the province. In particular, the outstanding loans in the agriculture and rural development sector reached 83.900 trillion VND, accounting for nearly 50% of total economic outstanding loans; among which, the loans for key agricultural products (coffee, pepper, rubber) reached 26.013 trillion VND (accounting for 31%). The total bad debt across the system was at 1.820 trillion VND, accounting for 1.08% of total outstanding loans.

During the year, the SBV of the province conducted 21 inspections, preventing, detecting, and strictly dealing with risks, shortcomings, and violations; coordinated with local police and border guard forces to enhance the prevention of counterfeiting; implemented regulations regarding foreign exchange activities and gold trading. Simultaneously, credit institutions in the province continued effective implementation of the cashless payment project; digital transformation in the banking sector; and the strategy for information technology development in banking until 2025, with a vision to 2030… 

In 2025, the banking sector aims to achieve local mobilization capital growth from 14% to 16%; outstanding loans to the economy growth from 11% to 13% and to control the bad debt ratio below 3% of total outstanding loans. To achieve this goal, the SBV province set forth a number of key tasks and solutions such as: continuing to direct local credit institutions to ensure credit growth is safe, effective, and in accordance with legal regulations; strengthening management, rectifying, and consolidating the operations of people's credit funds; accelerating digital transformation in banking activities; and enhancing inspection and supervision of the operations of credit institutions in the province…

In a statement at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha commended the efforts of the State Bank of Vietnam in the province for directing credit institutions to continue implementing credit and interest rate solutions to alleviate difficulties for production and business activities and to support the market. He also urged the banking sector to develop practical measures to ensure safe and effective credit growth. Notably, the directive for credit institutions to prioritize capital for lending in priority sectors, key areas, and regions with advantages in the province was emphasized. Specifically, the agricultural and rural sectors have achieved a loan balance of 83.9 trillion VND, accounting for nearly 50% of the total loan balance in the economy; of which, loans for the province's key agricultural products (coffee, pepper, rubber) reached 26.013 trillion VND, representing 31% of the total loans in the agricultural and rural sector.

The whole sector continues to simplify and digitize the lending process, reduce costs to lower interest rates to effectively support enterprises and the people in overcoming difficulties, restoring production and business, contributing to promoting the economic development of the province… 

On this occasion, the SBV Vietnam awarded a certificate of merit to one individual for their outstanding achievements in implementing social policy credit. The State Bank of Vietnam awarded medals to 10 individuals who have made significant contributions to the construction and development of the Vietnam banking sector. 

The SBV Dak Lak Branch awarded certificates of merit to 14 collectives for their excellent achievements in fulfilling the tasks of the provincial banking sector in 2024.
