On the morning of February 24^th, former leaders of Dak Lak Province over the years residing in Buon Ma Thuot City visited Ea H’leo 1 Reservoir Project and Ea Nam Wind Power Plant in Ea H’leo District. Joining the delegation were: Mr. Y Bier Nie, Deputy Secretary of the Province’s Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Member of the Province’s Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Province’s People’s Committee.

Speaking at the visit, Mr. Y Bier Nie, Deputy Secretary of the Province’s Party Committee emphasized: On the firmly established foundation of the previous generations, with the achievements in investment attraction, Dak Lak is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for investors and promoting its role as a comprehensive growth pole of the Central Highlands region. Today’s achievements have the great contribution of previous generations. The collective leadership of the province has always respected, inherited, and promoted the lessons learned in leadership, direction, and administration that have formed through earlier periods.

Deputy Secretary of the Province’s Party Committee Y Bier Nie also hoped that former province’s leaders would regularly monitor, encourage, care for, and contribute ideas to the province in the process of socio-economic development, thereby, for Dak Lak to continue the effective and successful implementation of the Party’s guidelines and resolutions, striving to surpass the set goals and targets.

The delegation visiting Ea H’leo 1 Reservoir Project

Reporting to the delegation, the representative leader of Irrigation Construction and Investment Management Board 8 said that the Ea H’leo Reservoir Project started construction in February 2019 with a total capital of more than 1.4777 trillion VND. The Reservoir has a designed capacity of 25.5 million m³. The main work items include: a concrete dam with a length of 312 m, the tallest point is 59 m; a homogeneous earth dam on the left shoulder of the concrete dam, 305 m long; an auxiliary dam located on the right of the dam, 299.2 m long; a free spillway, 56 m; a water intake culvert located on the left shoulder of the concrete dam, 37.7 m long. After completion, the resevoir will provide water for irrigation of 5,000 hectares of arable land, creating a source of domestic water for about 10,000 people in the project area, industrial water supply with a flow of 15,000 m³/day, and water for livestock farming of 1 million m³/year, thereby, contributing to improving the environment. Currently, the project’s work items have been basically completed and are expected to be handed over to the locality for management and exploitation in May 2022.

The Ea Nam Wind Power Plant Project is located on an area of 600 hectares in Ea Nam, Ea Khal, and Dlie Yang communes, Ea H’leo District, with a total investment of over 16.5 trillion VND, estimated electricity output of 1 billion kWh/year invested by Trung Nam Dak Dak 1 Wind Power Joint Stock Company. This is the key wind power project of Dak Lak Province and curently the largest wind power project in Vietnam. 

Up to now, the project has completed 84 wind pylons, with a capacity of 400 MW, combining a system of 1.2 km of 500kV transmission lines with electricity and public transport networks to serve the project and residents in the area. The project will create jobs for hundreds of local workers and significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of Dak Lak Province in the coming time. During the operation, the investor will pay the local budget about 3 trillion VND of corporate income tax and about 250 billion VND of VAT per year.
