Forum on the Application of Technology in Women's Union Activities - Effectiveness, Benefits, Challenges, and Opportunities (16/05/2024, 11:19)

On the afternoon of May 9th, the Provincial Women's Union organized a forum on the Application of Technology in Women's Union Activities - Effectiveness, Benefits, Challenges, and Opportunities at all levels of the union.

The conference was attended by leaders of the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Science and Technology; leaders of VNPT Dak Lak, and Women's Union of districts, towns, and cities in the province.

At the forum, delegates heard presentations from the leaders of departments and sectors: the Party's and the state's policies and orientations, Dak Lak province's policies on digital transformation; approaches of agencies, units, and people to digital transformation for high efficiency; Current issues in digital transformation in the province, application of information technology in union activities, opportunities and solutions; The advantages and difficulties in applying information technology in organizing and managing union activities; proposed suggestions for breakthroughs in applying information technology; shared about the positive changes of ICT in daily life.

In her opening speech, Ms. To Thi Tam - Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union stated that from the beginning of the tenure, the Provincial Women's Union has organized 11 training courses, inviting experts in the field of technology and specialized officials of the Central Women's Union to exchange and guide officials of all levels of the union with knowledge, practical skills in applying ICT and proficient use of basic software in union work; applying information technology in communication work, organizing union activities for Women's Union branch leaders; improving skills, capacity in entrepreneurship and business on e-commerce platforms and social networks.

In addition, the Provincial Women's Union has collaborated to organize forums, seminars: "Digital transformation solutions, searching for business opportunities in the digital economy", "Women's Day in the journey of digital transformation", Forum "Digital transformation, e-commerce - opportunities and challenges for women in entrepreneurship, business"; "Business strategy to attract customers" to link production, business of local specialties, apply digital technology in production, business, etc. Up to now, Women's Unions at all levels have Facebook pages, Zalo to post information, propaganda activities, projects, tasks performed by Women's Unions at all levels; organizing online competitions on the electronic information page and fan page of Women's Unions; conducting direct group meetings, work exchange through Zoom software, Zalo.

Especially, the Provincial Women's Union organized the "Application of Information Technology in Union Activity Organization" Contest with 75 entries from 14/15 districts, towns, and cities with Women's Unions participating. The Organizing Committee has judged and selected 11 excellent entries for awards.

In the management, administration, organization, and implementation of activities, the Provincial Women's Union has managed officials, union members, updated statistical reports, commendation and reward work in the interconnected Women's Union system from provincial to grassroots levels. The Women's Unions at all levels have implemented document exchange through software, received guidance information, compiled accurate, scientific reports, saving time, improving productivity, and work efficiency.

Through the Forum, the Women's Unions at all levels continue to propose solutions in the coming time to promote the application of information technology, accelerate digital transformation in implementing union activities, proactively invest in effective ICT applications, contributing positively to innovation, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership, direction, management, and implementation of key union tasks; while building a team of officials adaptable to comprehensive digital transformation, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolutions of the 17th Provincial Women's Union Congress and the Resolutions of Women's Union Congresses at all levels, term 2021 - 2026.

"We hope that the Women's Unions at all levels and every female union member will have a deep awareness of the role, position, and special significance of applying information technology, digital transformation to enhance capacity in guiding, implementing, organizing union activities, contributing with all levels, branches to achieve the province's digital transformation goals" - Ms. To Thi Tam shared.

The Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress has clearly identified "Application of information technology in union activities" as one of the breakthroughs to be implemented in the term, with the following targets: By the end of the term, 100% of union officials at all levels proficiently use basic software in union work; At least 30% of communication activities annually, 70% of communication documents of Women's Unions at all levels are digitized, communicated on the union's social media platforms; Strive for all union documents issued to be distributed through the provincial document interconnection system Ides, Idoc;

100% of female officials, union officials at all levels, and female union members in residential areas, members of models, clubs established by the Union are managed, monitored on the union's personnel management software.
