On the afternoon of May 22nd, at the Provincial Martyrs Cemetery, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Vietnam province solemnly organized a Memorial Service and Burial for voluntary soldiers and experts of Vietnam who fought, served in combat, and bravely sacrificed during various periods of war on the Cambodian battlefield.

Attending the ceremony were: Major General Doan Quang Hoa, Chief of the Office of the National Steering Committee 515; Major General Trinh Dinh Thach, Political Commissar of Military Region V; Mr. Pham Minh Tan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Phu Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. H’Yim Kdoh, Vice Chair of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the provincial specialized steering committee 515; Delegation of provincial authorities, armed forces of Mondulkiri province (Cambodia); along with representatives of departments, committees, sectors, units, localities, and people in the province.

In a solemn and dignified atmosphere, the remains of 27 voluntary soldiers and experts of Vietnam who sacrificed during various periods of war in Cambodia were repatriated to the motherland. These are the remains discovered and excavated by Team K51 (Provincial Military Command) during the dry season of 2023 - 2024 with the assistance and coordination of the provincial authorities and people of Mondulkiri. All 27 remains of the soldiers have not yet been identified.

Reading the eulogy at the Memorial Service and Burial, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the 515 provincial steering committee H’Yim Kđoh affirmed: Our Party, State, and people are deeply proud and infinitely grateful for the noble sacrifices of previous generations of revolutionary martyrs, the excellent children of the Vietnamese nation, who devoted their youth, bravery, and sacrifice for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and fostering the noble international solidarity. Inheriting the tradition of "Remembering the Source" of the Vietnamese nation, in recent years, the Party, government, army, and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak province have effectively implemented the movement of "Gratitude for Deeds". Facing the spirits of the fallen soldiers, the Party, government, and people of Dak Lak province promise to unite, determinedly build our homeland increasingly prosperous and beautiful.

Delegates also sincerely thanked the authorities, people, and armed forces of the neighboring country of Cambodia for actively cooperating and supporting the work of searching and gathering the remains of the soldiers; at the same time, they hope that the authorities and people of the neighboring country will continue to strengthen cooperation, assist Dak Lak province in the work of searching and gathering the remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers in the coming time. Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the 515 provincial steering committee H’Yim Kdoh also praised the great efforts and endeavors of the officers and soldiers of Team K51, under the Provincial Military Command, in overcoming difficulties and hardships to search for and repatriate the 27 remains of the fallen soldiers to rest in peace in the motherland.

From 2001 to the present, with the assistance of the Party committees, authorities, armed forces, and people of Mondulkiri province (Kingdom of Cambodia), Dak Lak province has searched, excavated, and gathered 719 remains of voluntary soldiers and experts of Vietnam who sacrificed in wars through various periods in Cambodia for burial at the Provincial Martyrs Cemetery.
