Head of Central Propaganda Department Visits and Works with Dak Lak Border Guard Command (28/06/2024, 08:15)

On the afternoon of June 24, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Propaganda Department, along with a working delegation, visited and worked with the officers and soldiers of the Dak Lak Border Guard Command. The discussion focused on the situation of protecting national territorial sovereignty and ensuring political security and social order in the province's border areas.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Propaganda Department - inquired about the leadership of the Dak Lak Border Guard Command.

Accompanying the working delegation were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives of relevant units.

The Dak Lak Border Guard currently manages and protects a border line over 71 km long in the districts of Ea Sup and Buon Don. Recently, the Dak Lak Border Guard has actively grasped the internal and external situation; regularly inspected and supervised units in combat readiness and implemented comprehensive border management and protection measures; thoroughly implemented civil defense, disaster response, search and rescue, and fire prevention plans; and effectively carried out training and military recruitment work.

The Border Guard has also deployed thousands of workdays of officers and soldiers to help people develop the economy and society, reduce poverty, and provide medical examination, consultation, and care for people in four border communes. They have implemented the "Step Up to School" program and the "Officers and Soldiers Step Up to School" project to help people in border areas develop economically, reduce poverty, stabilize their lives, and jointly protect national border sovereignty and political security and social order in border areas.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia recognized, praised, and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Dak Lak Border Guard in recent times. He also suggested that, in the future, the Dak Lak Border Guard continues to uphold and promote the glorious tradition of the Border Guard and the Vietnam People's Army; actively participates in strengthening the grassroots political system and effectively implementing social welfare, and economic development models.

Furthermore, they should continue to effectively carry out border management and protection, be ready for combat, disaster prevention, search and rescue, training, and education; build a strong people's border defense; coordinate with functional forces to maintain political security and social order in border areas; and maintain good border diplomacy, contributing to building peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developed borders.
