Launching the Club of Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage in Dak Lak Province (05/12/2023, 10:58)

On the evening of November 28th, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund of Vietnam collaborated with the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club and the Businesswomen's Association of Buon Ma Thuot City to organize the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club in Dak Lak Province.

Participants included Ms. Dang Thi Bich Lien, former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Honorary President of the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Director of the Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund of Vietnam - President of the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club. From Dak Lak Province, there were Ms. H’Yim Kdoh, Deputy Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, sectors, businesses, sponsors, and female club members.

At the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, President of the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club, issued the decision to establish the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club in Dak Lak Province and the decision to recognize the Steering Committee of the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club in Dak Lak Province. Accordingly, the Steering Committee consists of 5 members, with Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Businesswomen's Association of Buon Ma Thuot City, as the head.

The Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club in Dak Lak Province is a common home for those who love Áo Dài, contributing to promoting regular wearing of Áo Dài in daily activities. Additionally, it is a place for exchanging and sharing information and experiences in honoring and promoting the values of Vietnamese Áo Dài. Along with the Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club, the Dak Lak Province Vietnamese Áo Dài Heritage Club aims to make Áo Dài a national intangible cultural heritage and proposes UNESCO to recognize Áo Dài as the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

On this occasion, the club successfully auctioned off some items, including Áo Dài, jewelry, and paintings, raising over 200 million VND for its activities.

During the ceremony, fashion designers and club members in the province participated in artistic performances showcasing the Áo Dài styles through different periods, introducing the Áo Dài collection by designer Trung Berret with various classical to modern styles, evoking pride in the Vietnamese Áo Dài, a heritage of the Vietnamese people being actively preserved and promoted in daily life.

On November 26th, over 1,000 female club members from dance clubs, cultural clubs under the provincial retirees' club, and the Businesswomen's Association of Buon Ma Thuot City enthusiastically participated in a joint performance wearing Áo Dài at the square in Buon Ma Thuot City.

The highlight of the program was a parade on the pedestrian street of Phan Dinh Giot and an incense offering ceremony at the Buon Ma Thuot City Martyrs Monument in Dak Lak Province.

This was an opportunity for those who love Áo Dài and traditional culture to meet, exchange, and express their love for their homeland. The support and solidarity of the community made the ceremony an unforgettable memory, marking a significant step in preserving and developing the cultural heritage of Vietnam.
