Local enterprises of Dak Lak and Kerala (India) signed a cooperation agreement in tourism (10/06/2024, 14:08)

On the afternoon of June 3rd, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, organized a tourism promotion meeting between Kerala State (India) and tourism businesses in Dak Lak province. This is an activity aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation and boosting tourism demand in Dak Lak province during this summer.

Attendees of the program included Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi - Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, industries, and enterprises of Dak Lak province and Kerala State (India).

At the conference, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province provided information about the potential and strengths of tourism development in Dak Lak province. Highlighted among them are elephant-friendly tourism experiences, adventure tourism, community-based cultural experiences of ethnic groups on-site, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, delivered a welcoming speech.

Travel agencies from Kerala State (India) introduced the tourism potential of Kerala, tourism products with strengths to connect with enterprises in Dak Lak province, and proposed methods to promote hotel services through the network of tourism entrepreneurs in Kerala and Dak Lak.

In his welcome speech, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, stated that with the strength of agricultural production combined with the existing tourism potential and advantages, Dak Lak province has developed many tourism products to form tours and routes serving international tourists in general and Indian tourists in particular.

To develop tourism commensurate with the potential and advantages of Dak Lak province in the coming time, we hope to connect travel companies in Dak Lak province with travel businesses in Kerala State to build and introduce cultural experience tourism programs, community tourism, organic coffee farm tours between the two localities; promote and advertise the tourism image between the two localities to attract Indian tourists to Dak Lak province and vice versa. At the same time, we are interested in supporting and creating conditions for Indian tourism investors and businesses to come to learn, invest, and organize ecological tourism, agricultural tourism, community-based tourism, and resorts in Dak Lak province. After this meeting, Dak Lak province hopes that tourism businesses from Kerala and India will continue to contribute ideas to further improve and adapt tourism in Dak Lak province to the Indian market.

The Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Madan Mohan Sethi, said: Kerala is an important state of India, with a high proportion of people living and working abroad. This place shares many similarities with Vietnam in terms of political system and natural landscape.

During this working trip, enterprises from Kerala State (India) had the opportunity to meet and promote tourism cooperation agreements in Dak Lak and some provinces and cities in Vietnam. Through this, they continue to build tourism connection programs, making sustainable progress in the cooperative relationship between the two countries in general, between Kerala state and provinces/cities of Vietnam in particular.

On this occasion, enterprises from both sides signed 11 memoranda of cooperation in the field of travel and accommodation.
