On the morning of October 18th, the Women's Union of Dak Lak province organized a series of activities to commemorate the 94th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20th, 1930 - October 20th, 2024) and celebrate the 120th anniversary of the establishment of Dak Lak province (November 22nd, 1904 - November 22nd, 2024).

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Thu emphasized that Vietnamese women in general, and Dak Lak women in particular, have a tradition of patriotism and revolution. Throughout history, women of different ethnic groups in the province have stood shoulder to shoulder, united and determined, embodying the qualities of "heroism, resilience, loyalty, and dedication." They have made significant contributions to the national liberation and reunification, writing a glorious chapter in the heroic history of the Central Highlands region.
Inheriting the glorious traditions of women from different ethnic groups in the province, the Dak Lak Provincial Women's Union has continuously grown and developed. It has effectively fulfilled its functions of representation, unity, gathering, encouragement, and promotion of the noble qualities of generations of dynamic, creative, confident women who strive and dedicate themselves in various fields, contributing significantly to the construction and defense of the Fatherland.

Delegates have conducted discussions, exchanges, and meetings with outstanding women in various fields, thereby timely listening to their sharing and exchanging views on issues such as the role and contributions of Vietnamese women in general, and Dak Lak women in particular, from a historical perspective; the cultural behavior of women in modern times and the issues it raises; promoting gender equality and women's participation in decision-making processes. This helps female union members accumulate more valuable experiences, innovative approaches, and propose solutions to overcome difficulties, contributing to the development and strengthening of the Provincial Women's Union and the women's movement in the province.

The program has also honored and commended 40 outstanding women who have excelled in training, studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings. These women have made significant contributions in conservation, cultural transmission, production, and business. They serve as inspiring examples, spreading their influence widely across various aspects of life and society.
In addition, the Provincial Women's Union also awarded certificates of merit to 11 organizations and 9 individuals who have achieved outstanding results in the special competition "120 projects/tasks/activities accompanying women and disadvantaged children.

Commend and reward exemplary and excellent women.
Accordingly, the competition was launched by the Provincial Women's Union in February 2024. Over the course of more than 7 months, the Union at all levels has successfully implemented 142 support projects/activities/tasks, assisting and supporting disadvantaged women in the locality with a total value of over 13.7 billion VND, achieving 118% of the set plan. The Union has provided 148 livelihood models for women in difficult circumstances, provided startup capital for 270 women, presented 16 "homes of love" and "comrade homes" to 16 poor union members, distributed 45 health insurance cards to disadvantaged union members, mobilized "Mother Support" to nurture 145 orphaned children in the area, awarded 5 savings books to women in particularly difficult circumstances, coordinated in opening 21 vocational training classes for 790 rural women, and constructed 23 green spaces, flower gardens, flower streets, flag streets, illuminated rural roads, and "renovated and restored water wharfs"...

With 142 projects/activities/tasks implemented in various localities, these units have supported and assisted over 4,800 disadvantaged women and children in difficult circumstances, providing them with access to knowledge, livelihood support, job creation, income generation, and stable family lives. They have made positive contributions to the movement to build a new countryside in the locality.
