On July 5th, in Senmonorom City, Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia, the Mondulkiri Provincial Government (Cambodia) and the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province (Vietnam) jointly organized a conference to discuss and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on friendly cooperation between the two provinces for the 2024-2025 period.

The conference was attended by Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province; Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province; and representatives of various departments and agencies of Dak Lak Province. From Mondulkiri Province, attendees included Mr. Thang Savun, Central Committee Member, Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party in Mondulkiri Province, Governor of Mondulkiri Province; Mr. Men Ngoy, Central Committee Member, Chairman of the Mondulkiri Provincial Council; and representatives of various departments and agencies of Mondulkiri Province.
The conference focused on discussing and evaluating the results of socio-economic cooperation between the two provinces in recent times and setting the direction for cooperation for the 2024-2025 period.
In his speech at the conference, Mr. Thang Savun, Central Committee Member, Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party in Mondulkiri Province, and Governor of Mondulkiri Province, stated that the conference was a significant opportunity for the two provinces to review their cooperation process over the past period. The governments of both provinces have strived and overcome all difficulties to effectively implement the socio-economic development cooperation program, maintain security and order, protect the peaceful and friendly border, and develop together.

The Cambodian government has directed the planning of Mondulkiri Province to become a key economic development area in Northeast Cambodia, providing favorable conditions for Mondulkiri Province to leverage its existing potential and strengths. Thang Savun expressed hope that in the future, the government of Dak Lak Province will support, introduce, and facilitate enterprises from both provinces in exploring and surveying the investment environment, expanding the market, and strengthening trade connections between the two localities.
Recognizing and appreciating Thang Savun's sincere, practical, and useful exchanges, Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province, affirmed that Dak Lak always pays attention to promoting the consolidation and strengthening of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Mondulkiri Province in all fields. With this principle, relevant agencies and units will actively cooperate closely with Mondulkiri Province's agencies and forces to effectively implement the MoU, focusing on promoting new cooperation content, especially in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, and investment to elevate the relationship between the two provinces to a new height.
Building on the achieved results and continuing the tradition of "Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability," the two provinces exchanged and agreed on cooperation content in common areas of interest such as the economy, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
Both sides proceeded to sign the MoU on friendly cooperation between Dak Lak Province and Mondulkiri Province for the 2024-2025 period, demonstrating a strong commitment to cooperation between the two provinces and laying a significant foundation for the further implementation of many practical and meaningful exchange and cooperation activities in the future.
