On the afternoon of March 23, the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training led by Minister Nguyen Kim Son had a meeting with the People's Committee of Dak Lak province to discuss the situation of education and training in the province.

Receiving the Delegation were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung; Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Huynh Thi Chien Hoa; Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kdoh; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Y Giang Gry Nien Knong and representatives of relevant departments, agencies and branches in the province.

In recent years, the education and training sector in Dak Lak has made positive achievements, basically meeting the requirements set forth. The number of students, the types of schools and classrooms developed stably and diversified, suitable to the actual conditions of the localities, creating favorable conditions and learning opportunities for the people, contributing to raising the people's educational level, effectively training human resources. Up to now, 100% of villages and hamlets have independent preschools; 100% of communes and wards have independent primary and secondary schools; each district has 02 or more high schools; 100% of districts, towns and cities have lower secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities; 01 ethnic minority high school and another school in Buon Ho town has been completed and put into use.

The quality of mass education has been gradually improved, spearhead education has grown strongly over the years in both quality and quantity. Education of life skills, and life values for students are enhanced, contributing to building a safe, healthy and effective educational environment.

Illiteracy eradication and education universalization in the area has basically completed the proposed plan. 100% of districts, towns and cities maintain the results of illiteracy eradication, primary education universalization and lower secondary education universalization. The whole sector currently has more than 36,100 administrators, teachers, staff, and teachers, basically meeting the requirements of educational innovation. Policies on human resource development, illiteracy eradication, and implementation of educational goals in ethnic minority areas are paid attention to and promoted.

Besides the achieved results, there are still some remaining difficulties and limitations such as: the rate of solidified schools is still low compared to the national average; the quality of mass education is not uniform; education in remote areas still faces many difficulties, leading to a large number of students dropping out of school at all levels; there is a shortage of teachers, especially teachers at preschools, Informatics, Foreign Languages at primary school, and Music and Fine Arts subjects at high school level according to the General Education Program 2018; facilities and teaching equipment are still lacking, not meeting the requirements of scale development and education quality improvement; the distribution of vocational education institutions is different between urban and rural areas; the quality of vocational training is not comprehensive.

At the meeting, Dak Lak province proposed to the Delegation a number of recommendations such as: consider adjusting and amending the retirement age regulations for preschool teachers; increase investment resources for education development in border areas, remote areas, and ethnic minority areas with a small population; continue programs and projects from ODA and central budget sources to support and invest in education in mountainous and island localities, ethnic minority areas, and regions with favorable conditions. socio-economic difficulties; request the Ministry of Education and Training to advise the Government to implement the Program on solidification of schools and public service houses for teachers in the period of 2021-2025; continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to advise the Government to supplement the staffing quota for the education and training career that is still lacking compared to regulations, to ensure a sufficient number of teachers during the implementation of the General Education Program 2018.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son acknowledged and praised the results that Dak Lak province has achieved in the development of education and training over the past time. At the same time, it is proposed that Dak Lak province will continue to focus heavily on the effective implementation of the 2018 General Education Program, on increasing investment in facilities to ensure effective educational innovation; conduct training and retraining to improve professional skills for teachers; review and arrange the network of educational institutions in a prudent and scientific manner, ensuring favorable conditions for parents and students; continue to improve the quality of ethnic education, especially ethnic minority language training; continue to build effective learning society; effectively implement the job of streamlining career guidance after secondary school level.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son also agreed to assign the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training to develop a project to merge the Dak Lak Pedagogical College into the Central Highlands University. Dak Lak province shall continue to pay attention and support the activities of the Central Highlands University, support the construction of dormitories and houses for lecturers and mobilizing and attracting human resources of high-quality researchers.
