At the conference, delegates were disseminated some main contents in organizing the 2020 National High School Graduation Exams. Accordingly, this year's Exams will have some new points such as: Strengthening autonomy of localities (provinces and cities directly under the Central Government), in which, the PPC Chairpersons will be fully responsible for directing the organization of the Exams in their localities.
Higher education institutions do not take part in exams and examinations; only join inspection teams to inspect, examine and supervise the stages of the Exams. In addition to the inspection teams of MOET and the Departments of Education and Training (DOETs), the Inspectorates of localities will organize other inspection teams in all stages of organizing the Exams under the direction of the PPCs and the guidance of the Government Inspectorate. Speaking at the conference, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha emphasized: The 2020 National High School Graduation Exams are extremely important. It is very important to organize the Exams in a safe, serious, transparent and objective manner, therefore, the MOET proposes the local authorities to direct and fully grasp the purposes, requirements, specific contents in organizing the Exams. The localities need to be aware of the importance of the Exams in order to carefully prepare the stages and avoid potential risks. Delegates attend the Conference in Dak Lak
The 2020 National High School Graduation Exams will take place on August 9-10, as announced by the MOET. This year, candidates will take five tests, including three independent tests of maths, literature, foreign languages and two combined tests of natural science (physics, chemistry and biology) and social science (History, geography and civic education for students who are at secondary education level, or history and geography for candidates continuing educational programs at high school level). The content of the Exams will be in the high school curriculum, mainly in grade 12. Maths, foreign languages, natural science and social science will be multiple-choice. Only the test of literature will be taken in the form of essay.
In Dak Lak, the Exams are expected to have nearly 25 thousand candidates this year. The province will arrange 32 test locations with 900 rooms in 15 city, town and districts. Currently, the DOET of Dak Lak province is actively directing related units to strengthen the attention to teaching in accordance with the program content and schedule set by the MOET. The DOET has also been preparing conditions on facilities, funding as well as human resources to serve the Exams. In particular, the DOET has advised the PPC to organize preventive examination areas, because it is rainy season in Dak Lak during the exam period, there are often rainstorms, ...
The conference also spent time discussing a number of tasks in the near future: establishing the provincial Steering Committees for the Exams; reviewing all the preparation for the Exams, especially the arrangement of exam areas, facilities and equipment; focusing on the selection of personnel to participate in the Exams (especially in the critical stages related to the questions, answer papers, invigilation and grading) with the notice on contingency planning for examinations...
In particular, the conference also specified a number of specific timelines: Professional training at all levels before June 15th; exam registration from June 15th to June 30th; completion of registration data for high school graduation recognition, numbering of registrations, ranking of exam rooms, announcement of candidates who are not eligible to take the exams no later than July 23rd; returning exam notices to candidates at the latest on August 01st; completion of the preparation of facilities and examination documents for exam areas before August 04th; exam time in two days August 09th and 10th; publishment of test results on August 27th ...
