Online Conference on the Organization of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam (04/07/2024, 10:33)

On the morning of June 20, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) held an online conference with localities on the organization of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam (referred to as the Exam). The conference took place between the National Steering Committee and the Provincial Steering Committees to ensure unified direction and coordinated implementation of the Exam in a safe, serious, friendly, and regulatory manner.

Present at the Dak Lak city hall were Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training and Member of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Exam, Le Thi Kim Oanh, along with representatives from various departments, sectors, and localities within the province.

According to the MoET report, the 2024 High School Graduation Exam will be organized to maintain stability similar to the period from 2020 to 2023. The MoET will provide overall direction, while provinces and centrally governed cities will take the lead in organizing the exam in their localities. The examination councils will conduct exams on June 26, 27, 28, and 29, 2024, and grading will begin on June 29, 2024. Results will be announced at 8:00 AM on July 17, 2024, and the recognition of high school graduation will take place on July 19, 2024.

Provincial Departments of Education and Training will organize trial online exam registration for candidates from April 24-28 and official registration from May 2, 2024, to 5:00 PM on May 10, 2024, both online and in person.

The total number of registered candidates is 1,071,393, an increase of over 45,000 candidates compared to the 2023 exam. There are 46,978 independent candidates, accounting for 4.38% of the total; 1,014,020 candidates registered online, making up 94.66% of the total; and 66,927 candidates registered for exemption from the foreign language exam, accounting for 6.25% of the total. Nationwide, there are 2,323 exam locations, an increase of 51 compared to the 2023 exam, with a total of 45,149 exam rooms.

Localities were instructed to establish Provincial Steering Committees with all required components early, mobilizing the entire political system and provincial departments and sectors to participate, assigning specific, detailed tasks to each member of the Provincial Steering Committee. Localities also established District Steering Committees, mobilizing departments and the entire political system to participate. Media work was intensified, especially in publicizing and ensuring the exam is conducted safely, seriously, and according to regulations.

Provincial Departments of Education and Training actively prepared the necessary facilities, equipment, and exam venues according to regulations, ensuring convenient and safe organization of the exam. Examination staff were mobilized and fully trained to master regulations before participating in any exam-related tasks, especially those involved in inspection and supervision.

The MoET inspected the exam preparation work in various localities. This showed that the People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities had established Steering Committees to mobilize departments, sectors, unions, and local authorities to coordinate in preparing the conditions for organizing the exam.

The 2024 High School Graduation Exam at the Dak Lak Provincial Exam Council has 20,934 registered candidates. The province has arranged 33 exam locations with 893 exam rooms across all 15 districts, towns, and cities.

To date, Dak Lak Province has basically completed the preparation work according to the national exam schedule.

At the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong requested localities to continue enhancing the inspection of exam preparation; directing and checking the completion of the curriculum and organizing review sessions for students; preparing well for organizing the exam, especially in areas affected by natural disasters and disease prevention work; providing maximum support and conditions for candidates, especially those with difficult circumstances in remote and isolated areas; thoroughly reviewing the facilities and equipment for the exam; promptly handling any unusual situations; ensuring absolute safety for the exam; and organizing inspection and supervision activities for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam according to regulations and guidelines from the MoET.
