On the afternoon of April 20, the Association of French localities (CUF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam held a midterm online seminar on cooperation among Vietnamese and French localities with the topic of “Cooperation direction among Vietnamese and French localities in the current context, the role of e-administration - digitization ”.

Attending the seminar at bridge points in Vietnam and France were Mr. Mr Dinh Toan Thang, Director General of Europe Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, Mr. Jean Claude Dardelet, Chairman of The Vietnam Group at CUF; French Ambassador to Hanoi Nicolas Warnery, and representatives of provinces and cities of the two countries.
Attending the Conference at Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee there were representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and a number of related units.

At the seminar, delegates focused on discussing the cooperation between localities related to applying digital technology into adapting climate change, managing water sources, land, building smart cities; promoting the role of local heritage in order to exploit cultural and tourism cooperation in the situation of post Covid-19 pandemic.
The delegates also agreed that Vietnam – France relations have archived comprehensive and good result in the past time. However, there are many raising difficult issues that need to be solved. Along with that, it is necessary to come up with solutions to enhance cooperation activities in the current situation of Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the two sides should strengthen the spirit of solidarity, maintain and improve the quality of the implementation of the same content associated with the benefit of the two countries as well as the localities.

At the seminar, through the French Embassy in Vietnam, Dak Lak province invited the French traditional art troupe to attend the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2022 if the Covid-19 pandemic is controlled and facilitate to send the provincial gong artisans to perform in France. In addition, leaders of the province hoped that France will support the construction of the Cada Plantation established by the French into a prominent cultural historical relic and share issues related to the digitalization of artifacts on display at the provincial museum.
