On the morning of July 10, the Eighth Session of the Provincial People's Council, Term X, 2021-2026, officially commenced.

Attending the opening session were Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thi Chien Hoa, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Thi Thanh Xuan, Deputy Head in charge of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; National Assembly delegates of the province; Y Giang Gry Nie Knong, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Standing members of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of various provincial departments, agencies, localities, and 62 out of 74 delegates of the Provincial People's Council, Term X, 2021-2026.

In her opening remarks, Chairwoman Huynh Thi Chien Hoa emphasized that in the first six months of 2024, with solidarity, determination, and efforts from the entire political system, under the timely and close leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and its Standing Committee, the support of the Provincial People's Council, the flexible administration of the Provincial People's Committee, combined with efforts from all levels, sectors, localities, and the business community, as well as the support and trust of the people, Dak Lak province has comprehensively and promptly implemented political tasks according to the resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council for 2024, achieving significant results.

Accordingly, the province's socio-economic situation continued to maintain and develop; most targets showed considerable growth; national defense and security were maintained; and disease prevention and control were under control. Cultural, foreign affairs, and social security activities continued to be promoted, notably the activities celebrating the 120th anniversary of the province's establishment; rapid and practical implementation of housing support programs for poor and disadvantaged households across the province...

At this session, the Provincial People's Council will review reports on the tasks performed in the first six months and the directions and tasks for the last six months of 2024 from the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Court, the Provincial People's Procuracy, and the Provincial Civil Judgment Enforcement Department; the report of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation results of the socio-economic development plan, ensuring national defense and security; work on crime prevention and law violations; anti-corruption efforts, practicing thrift and combating wastefulness; handling of complaints and denunciations; results of addressing voters' opinions and recommendations after the Seventh Session of the Provincial People's Council, Term X; and the notification from the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee on its participation in government building.

The Provincial People's Council will also conduct a specialized supervision session; allocate time for group discussions, plenary discussions, and listen to feedback, exchanges, and explanations from the Provincial People's Committee representatives and relevant agencies on the delegates' sectoral and field-related opinions. They will discuss, review, and vote on 21 draft resolutions related to economic fields; public investment; land; national target programs; social fields and related support policies; results of specialized supervision by the Provincial People's Council in 2024, and the supervision program for 2025 and other resolutions...

Chairwoman Huynh Thi Chien Hoa urged the provincial delegates to focus on discussions to accurately and fully evaluate achieved results to continue promoting, while addressing and overcoming existing shortcomings and limitations.
