Planting 1,000 black star trees on World Environment Day June 5 (10/06/2024, 14:07)

On June 5, in Hoa Khanh commune, Buon Ma Thuot City, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province, in coordination with the Provincial Military Command of Dak Lak province, organized the launching ceremony "Planting trees in remembrance of Uncle Ho" and in response to World Environment Day on June 5.

1,000 black star trees were donated to be planted in Ward 12, Hoa Khanh commune.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Chi - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development stated, "Planting trees in remembrance of Uncle Ho" is an occasion to encourage all officials, soldiers, civil servants, workers to actively participate in tree planting, afforestation; striving for "each person to plant 1-2 green trees or more" in public places in their residential and working areas, contributing to creating a green, clean, and beautiful environment.

Moreover, this is also a meaningful activity to raise awareness and promote the dissemination of knowledge among all people about the role, effects, and value of forests; the significance of tree planting, afforestation, forest protection work, environmental protection, contributing to disaster reduction, and climate change response; encouraging the participation of the whole society, uniting efforts, participating in tree planting and afforestation.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development presented 1,000 black star trees to the Provincial Military Command to plant in the area under its management in Ward 12, Hoa Khanh commune. After the launching ceremony, over 100 commanders, officers, soldiers of the Provincial Military Command, leaders, officials, staff of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the local self-defense force of Hoa Khanh commune, Buon Ma Thuot City proceeded to plant trees according to the proper procedures, ensuring the best conditions for the trees to live and grow.
