PPC’s official meeting with press agencies (07/07/2017, 13:59)

June 20th, Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting with central and local press agencies in Dak Lak province on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day with the attendance of Mr. Tran Vinh Canh – Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Council; former provincial leaders; representatives of the Propaganda and Training Department of Provincial Party Committee and Dak Lak Provincial Department Information and Communications.

In the joyful atmosphere, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial Journalists Association Y Tuin Kman reviewed the tradition of Viet Nam revolutionary press since its inception with the publication of Thanh Nien Newspaper (June 21st, 1925) by President Ho Chi Minh. Since then, Vietnamese revolutionary journalists have been soldiers on the cultural and ideological front, contributing greatly to the country’s protection and development.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of PPC Nguyen Tuan Ha thanked the journalists as well as highly appreciated contributions by the media on the development of Dak Lak province. In general, the Vietnamese media has successfully fulfilled its function as an organ of the Party, State, socio-political organizations, and as a forum of the people; meeting people’s demands for information. Specially, the media has contributed to the fight against corruption, wastefulness, and other negative practices in the society.

The Vice Chairman expressed his wish that in the coming time, the contingent of journalists would continue to improve their professional qualification and revolutionary bravery in order to actively participate in maintaining the role of information orientation, meeting better and better information needs of the people. The media must be the vanguard in the ideological front fighting against erroneous viewpoints and understanding and commending new elements and examples. Besides, the media must also effectively participate in the campaign to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.

Also at the event, the Viet Nam Journalists Association awarded the commemorative medal “For the Cause of the Vietnamese Press” to 04 former provincial leaders of Dak Lak province.
