On the afternoon of August 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted an inspection of the construction progress at the construction site of the investment project for the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway.

Participats in the delegation included: Le Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Transport and representatives of the relevant ministries, sectors and localities. Participants of Dak Lak Province in the ceremony included: Nguyen Dinh Trung - Party Central Committee Member, Secretary of Provincial Committee; Pham Ngoc Nghi - Deputy Secretary of Provincial Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; leader of provincial People's Committee, representatives of heads of departments, branches and localities in the province.

In the bidding packages of Component Project 3, which passes through Krông Pắc district, Ea Kar district, the Prime Minister expressed his impression of the construction momentum on the construction site. At the same time, he encouraged the contractors to maximize the spirit of "overcoming the sun and winning the rain", "only focusing on work, not retreating", to ensure the progress and quality of the project.

The Prime Minister praised Đắk Lắk province for its great efforts in undertaking the first-ever high-speed road project, which has now taken shape. The challenging sections of the highway have been assigned to the Ministry of Transport and experienced contractors, from which good experience has been drawn for the entire project.

During the visit to inquire about the employment and living conditions of officials, engineers, and workers on the construction site, the Prime Minister was impressed by the dedicated and enthusiastic work ethic of the laborers involved in the projects.

During a conversation with the local residents living in the project area, the Prime Minister expressed his delight that the community had reached a consensus and agreed to support the state in implementing the project. The Prime Minister emphasized that this is a national key project, therefore, it requires the sharing and consensus of the people in order to achieve the common goal...

In the coming time, the Prime Minister emphasized that the entire political system must make efforts to complete the work of land clearance, actively participate in directing, mobilizing, and engaging the people; relocating technical works to accelerate the construction progress.

The Prime Minister proposed mobilizing the 5th Military Region, the police force, and the people to support the project in tasks that can be done with the spirit of "Victory is achieved when the troops are deployed".

 

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen inspections and ensure environmental hygiene, limit dust that affects people's lives, especially by closely connecting with the local people where the project is implemented.

Dak Lak province will continue to promote the achieved results, strive to rebuild the construction progress, and aim to complete this highway section by 2025. The Prime Minister requested to promote the spirit of self-reliance and self-strength, and not to divide the bidding packages. At the same time, attention should be paid to ensuring that the resettlement areas have better living conditions, at least equal to the previous places of residence; taking care of the livelihoods and creating stable incomes for the people after giving up land, houses, and fields for the project construction. Units need to closely follow the construction site, encourage the working spirit of officials, engineers, workers, and laborers, and create a vibrant atmosphere of competition at the construction site...

The Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project has a length of 116.5 km, divided into 4 lanes, with a total investment of nearly 22,000 billion VND. The project is divided into 3 component projects and assigned to the People's Committees of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak provinces and the Ministry of Transport as the managing agency. The project started in June 2023, and the basic project is expected to be completed in 2026, and put into operation in 2027.

 

So far, the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project, Component project 1 through Khanh Hoa province, has achieved 20% of the construction value; Component project 2 has achieved nearly 7% of the construction value; Component project 3 has achieved over 15% of the value.
