On the afternoon of October 18th, the Steering Committee of the 4th Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in 2024 held a press conference to provide information to local and central press agencies in Dak Lak province. Comrade Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the press conference.
The press conference was attended by leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, relevant departments and agencies, as well as leaders of central and local press agencies.

According to information from the organizing committee, the 4th Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in Dak Lak in 2024 will be held for 2 days, from October 24th to October 25th, 2024, at Muong Thanh Hotel, 81 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Buon Ma Thuot City, under the theme: "Unity, Innovation, Exploitation of Advantages, Integration, and Sustainable Development of the Ethnic Minorities in Dak Lak Province."

The Congress is a particularly important political event for Dak Lak province, marking the 5-year journey of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in 2019. It serves as a forum for exchange, consensus, and strong trust of the ethnic minority communities in the leadership of the Party and the governance of the State. The Congress will review and evaluate the achievements, draw lessons learned, and set goals and tasks for the period of 2024-2029.

Comrade Le Ngoc Vinh, Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minority Committee, provided information about the Congress program.
According to the working program, the Congress will discuss and provide opinions on the draft Political Report of the Congress, listen to the reports and speeches of exemplary collectives and individuals. The Congress will also approve the Resolution of the 4th Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in Dak Lak in 2024.
In addition, there are sideline activities at the Ethnic Minority Congress such as: Organizing the Delegation to visit the Martyrs Cemetery; Dialogue conference between provincial leaders and delegates attending the Congress; Music and dance program to welcome the Congress; Exhibition of OCOP products and traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups in Dak Lak province (expected to have 01 booth for each district, town, and city for two days starting from 9:00 am on October 24, 2024, to October 25, 2024), organizing some unique folk cultural activities of ethnic minorities on the official day of the Congress (food stalls, typical cultural performances of some ethnic groups, ....).

The Congress is expected to have the participation of 333 delegates, including 250 official delegates, representing over 715 thousand ethnic minorities from 49 ethnic groups currently living, studying, and working in the entire province. Among them: 187 delegates are elected from the district-level Congress; 45 delegates are elected from the Departments, Committees, and organizations in the province; and 18 are ex-officio delegates. These are outstanding delegates who have made significant contributions to ethnic work and the implementation of ethnic policies in the province in recent years.

Speaking at the press conference, Comrade Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the 4th Ethnic Minority Congress of Dak Lak province in 2024 is an important political event, calling for the unity of the ethnic people, unity of will, joint efforts, joint hearts, promoting the achievements of the past 5 years, overcoming all difficulties and obstacles, striving to build a prosperous, civilized, and distinctive Dak Lak province.
With that spirit, the Steering Committee of the Congress proposed that the Ethnic Affairs Committee, Departments, and agencies coordinate well in preparing documents, reviewing the operational scenario and participating components, preparing well for receiving delegates; dialoguing according to content groups; proactively providing data on the results of ethnic work in the past 5 years for the press agencies to build propaganda products before, during, and after the Congress, timely highlighting exemplary models. It is suggested that the press agencies continue to promote their vanguard role on the ideological front, strengthen propaganda for the 4th Ethnic Minority Congress of Dak Lak province in 2024, and contribute significantly to the success of the Congress.

The district-level Ethnic Minority Congress took place from April to the end of June 2024 with 2,248 delegates representing various ethnic minority groups in the province attending. The district-level Congress was organized solemnly with an appropriate scale, practicality, and cost-effectiveness, while creating a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, pride among the ethnic people at the local level. There were 190 collectives and 334 individuals commended by the Chairman of the People's Committee of districts, towns, and cities; 15 collectives and 44 individuals commended by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 15 collectives and 30 individuals commended by the Head of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic work and ethnic policies in the period of 2019 - 2024. |
