Release of Economic and Social Statistics for the First 6 Months of 2024 (12/07/2024, 14:23)

On the morning of July 4th, the Dak Lak Statistics Office held a press conference to announce the economic and social statistics for the first 6 months of 2024. The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Do Tan Xuan, Director of the Provincial Statistics Office, and Mr. Nguyen Quang Phuoc, Deputy Director of the Provincial Statistics Office.

The press conference was attended by representatives from several provincial departments and sectors, as well as local and central press agencies.

During the press conference, Mr. Do Tan Xuan, Director of the Provincial Statistics Office, reported that in the first 6 months of 2024, thanks to the efforts of all levels of government, sectors, business communities, and the people of the province, the socio-economic situation remained stable and developed positively. Social security policies were timely, practical, and targeted. Political security and social order were maintained, ensuring stable lives for the people.

The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) for the first 6 months of 2024 in the entire province reached an estimated 25,492.7 billion VND, achieving 39.56% of the plan and increasing by 4.13% compared to the same period last year. Total state budget revenue was estimated at 4,229.6 billion VND, up by 8.62% compared to the same period in 2023. Total state budget expenditure was estimated at 13,193.1 billion VND, an increase of 14.16% compared to the same period last year.

The value of construction production (at constant 2010 prices) was estimated at 5,248.1 billion VND, up by 4.98% compared to the same period in 2023. The industrial production index increased by 6.27% compared to the same period in 2023. Total retail sales of goods and consumer services reached 53,458.2 billion VND, up by 6.39% compared to the same period last year. The average consumer price index for the first 6 months of 2024 increased by 5.21%.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the province saw the establishment of 690 new enterprises, a decrease of 2.40% compared to the same period in 2023, equivalent to 37.30% of the annual plan for 2024, with a total registered capital of over 4,975 billion VND. The province successfully organized various activities to support startup innovation in 2024, such as the Entrepreneurial Innovation Idea Competition for Women and the Women's Entrepreneurship Day in Dak Lak Province in 2024. The province also supported startup projects participating in the 5th Innovative Entrepreneurship Week - Techfest Quang Nam 2024.

Agricultural, forestry, and aquatic production continued to develop steadily in the first 6 months of 2024, with productivity and output of major crops and livestock meeting or exceeding targets. Specifically, during the Winter-Spring crop season of 2023-2024, the province cultivated 69,171 hectares of various crops, exceeding the plan by 19.92% and increasing by 2.07% compared to the official Winter-Spring season of the previous year. The province also planted 594 hectares of forest, up by 4.95% compared to the same period in 2023, highlighting investments from local residents and businesses in reforestation efforts. The total aquaculture production in the province for the first 6 months of 2024 was estimated at 9,162 tons, an increase of 4.35% compared to the same period last year.

In addition to releasing the economic and social statistics for the first 6 months of 2024, the leadership of the Provincial Statistics Office also provided information on the implementation of the Mid-term Population and Housing Census, conducted from April 1, 2024, and the survey on the economic and social situation of 53 ethnic minorities in the province, scheduled from July 1 to August 15, 2024.
