The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Dak Lak PPC and Solarpark Company – Korea on Solar Power Plant Investment Project in Dak Lak was held on April 5th with the presence of Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the PPC, Mr. Y Bier Nie – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh – Vice Chairman of the PPC, and representatives of the provincial departments, sectors and branches, People’s Committees of Buon Ma Thuot City and Ea Sup district. On Solarpark’s side, there were Mr. Park Huyn Woo – Chairman of the Company and other members.

Total investment capital of Solar Power Plant Investment Project in Dak Lak was estimated from US$600 million to US$ one billion with the duration of 40 years (2016 – 2056). The Project will invest in construction and operation of the Solar Power Plant at Ea Sup Thuong Lake, Ea Sup district with a production capacity of 300-500 MWH.

Addressing at the Ceremony, Mr. Park Huyn Woo expressed his thanks for the support, assistance and cooperation of the PPC, departments, sectors and localities while the Company was conducting surveys and developing its Project. Mr. Park Huyn Woo simultaneously stated that Solarpark Company is one of well experienced companies in investment and construction of the solar power plants in Asia and over the world. To implement this project, the Company has paid attention to such issues that need to be supported by the province as: solar power electric buying price; connection between the Solar Power Plant and the 500 kV transmission lines of the national grid; technology of installing solar panels floating on lakes. Along with assessments and surveys of natural conditions at installing location, the Company also hopes to receive assistance and support of the PPC, departments, sectors, and branches as well as leaders of Ea Sup district so that the Project will be early put into operation.

The Chairman Pham Ngoc Nghi welcomed Solarpark Company to seek investment opportunities in Dak Lak and pledged that local authorities would create all favorable conditions for the Project’s development in Dak Lak. The Chairman directed the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment, People’s Committee of Ea Sup district as well as other departments, sectors, branches to coordinate with Solarpark Company and provide assistance in implementing the Project. The PPC also expected that the Company will continue to introduce Dak Lak’s potentials and investment opportunities to other Korean firms as well as encourages their investment in Dak Lak.

The purpose of MOU is to establish the cooperation between Solarpark Company and Dak Lak province in the fields of researching and conducting surveys of conditions related to the Project, completing all administrative procedures according to Vietnam’s law, concerned issues of the Project after being granted the investment license. Moreover, the leaders of PPC and representatives of Solarpark Company have reached an agreement of a contact for business in order to perform the Project advantageously and effectively.
