On the afternoon of June 28, a working delegation from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, led by Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, held a meeting with the Standing Committee of the Ea Sup District Party Committee. The delegation included Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of the Party building committees of the Provincial Party Committee, along with provincial departments and sectors.

During the meeting, the delegation heard the Ea Sup District Party Committee report on the socio-economic development, national defense, security, Party building, and political system construction in the first six months of 2024, and the plans for the remaining six months. They also reviewed the implementation of the conclusions of the Provincial Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee since the beginning of the term, the implementation of the District Party Congress Resolution 2020-2025, and the preparation for the District Party Congress 2025-2030.

In the first six months of 2024, the Standing Committee of the Ea Sup District Party Committee focused on leading and directing the comprehensive implementation of tasks, ensuring close integration between socio-economic development and building military and defense potentials within the national defense framework. Border security was maintained, and political stability was essentially ensured.

The district's economic indicators showed growth compared to the same period in 2023. Specifically, the total production value was estimated at 4,387 billion VND, achieving 51.07% of the resolution target and increasing by 18.03% year-on-year. Retail sales and service revenue were estimated at 1,288 billion VND, achieving 58% of the resolution target and increasing by 15.6% year-on-year. Industrial and handicraft production value was 945 billion VND, achieving 52.47% of the resolution target and increasing by 130.7% year-on-year. Total social investment capital was estimated at 2,420 billion VND, achieving 60.5% of the resolution target and increasing by 14.69% year-on-year. Basic construction investment disbursement was estimated at 169.74 billion VND, achieving 52% of the allocated capital plan. State budget revenue was estimated at 38,123 billion VND, achieving 70.7% of the resolution target.

In agricultural production, the total area of winter-spring crops reached 9,742 hectares out of 8,402 hectares, achieving 116% of the plan. The summer-autumn crop area reached 15,900 hectares out of 28,770 hectares, achieving 55.27% of the plan. Forest management, protection, and development continued to receive attention, with leadership directing functional agencies, communes, towns, and forest management units to strengthen forest protection and development efforts, including fire prevention and fighting. Inspections of forest management and fire prevention were conducted for 25 out of 29 agricultural and forestry projects. Plans were issued for checking forest status for 13 household groups in Ea Bung commune and three groups in Cu M’Lan commune to implement land and forest recovery and handover to local management.

Since the beginning of the term, the implementation of the District Party Congress Resolution for 2020-2025 has generally met progress. Out of 23 primary targets, 21 have met progress, with some exceeding the resolution targets, such as state budget revenue achieving 110.8% of the target and the establishment of new cooperatives reaching 190% of the target. The average economic growth rate for 2021-2023 was 14.2% per year. The total production value (at 2010 constant prices) in 2023 reached 7,450 billion VND, an increase of 48.13% compared to 2020. Total social investment capital for 2021-2023 was 9,482 billion VND. Average income per capita (at 2010 constant prices) in 2023 was 28 million VND, an increase of 2 million VND compared to 2020. The economic structure continued to shift positively.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged, commended, and congratulated the achievements of the Party, government, and people of Ea Sup district in the first six months of 2024 and the implementation of the District Party Congress Resolution from the beginning of the term 2020-2025.

For upcoming key tasks, Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi urged the Standing Committee of the Ea Sup District Party Committee to focus on reviewing and evaluating the implementation of targets and plans set from the beginning of 2024 and from the start of the term 2020-2025, especially two targets projected to be at risk of not being met, and to take measures to lead, direct, and push for the completion of these plans. Additionally, they should continue to lead and direct strict forest protection and development efforts linked with economic development solutions, capitalize on the district’s potentials and advantages, focus on suitable crop structure transitions, continue developing local specialty brands associated with the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program, implement the new rural construction program, enhance investment promotion, and further strengthen Party building and political system construction, focusing on preparations for the Party Congress at all levels for the term 2025-2030.
