The 10th Congress to honour Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren in 2020 (21/07/2020, 10:08)

On Tuesday evening (14th July), the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dak Lak province (DYU) and the Provincial Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation (HYPO) held the 10th Congress to honour Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren in 2020. Attending the meeting were the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kdoh, representatives of the departments, industry and 122 representatives of more than 300,000 members and youth in the province.

Over the past school years, implementing the work programs and movements of the HYPO, the Young Pioneer Teams (YPTs) of the city have been constantly competing, training to set up many achievements, many children strive to be Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren. In response to the campaign “Vietnamese children well follow five teachings of Uncle Ho”, the HYPO members and children have actively strived to participate in extracurricular programs and training courses. In 2020, the Congresses at all levels to honour Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren have been successfully organized, thereby 24,052 children of the YPTs and 1,066 children of the HYPO at district-level were recognised “Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the PPC H’Yim Kdoh recognized and appreciated the achievements that children in the province have achieved that contributed to the strong development of the provincial HYPO.

At the same time, she suggested that the Party Committees, the Government bodies and the Unions at all levels should continue to be interested in coordinating and supporting the provincial HYPO and creating conditions and environment for children to study.  

Additionally, the Vice Chairwoman recommended that the HYPO at all levels in the province should focus on organizing activities towards teenagers, children in remote areas and ethnic minority regions to educate them on sovereignty on borders and sea of the homeland; at the same time, actively participating in building the stronger YPTs inside and outside schools.

At the meeting, the Central HYPO presented Kim Dong Prize to two children (Nguyen Ngan Nhan, Young Pioneer Team No. 9A of the Young Pioneer Organisation of Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School, Ea Kar District and Nguyen Ha Tuan Anh, Young Pioneer Team No. 5A, the Young Pioneer Organisation of Tran Quoc Tuan Primary School, Krong Pac District).

On this occasion, the DYU awarded Certificates of merit to 11 delegates. The Provincial Council of HYPO awarded Certificates “Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren” to 15 delegates for their outstanding achievements in implementing the movement Dak Lak Children well follow five teachings of Uncle Ho”, and presented Certificates of provincial typical examples among “Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren” to 122 children.
The Provincial Party Committee offered 122 packs of gift to 122 good representatives of Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren. BIDV Dak Lak branch, supported VND 50 million to build one “Red scarf house” for disadvantaged child in Buon Don district. Hoang Binh Company and Show Home Furniture Company supported 20 bicycles for children in Buon Ho town and Krong Buk district. The Provincial Council of HYPO presented a playground worth VND 50 million to children in Krong Bong district.


Commendation for Uncle Ho’s Good Grandchildren at the Congress

In the framework of the Congress, delegates also participated in the journeys “I love Vietnam – my homeland” and “Dak Lak Children – United, hardworking and obedient”; exchanged with typical YPTs; visited and offered gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother; offered incense and commemorative flowers at the Monument of Uncle Ho with ethnic minorities children, and Memorial Board of soldiers going the south.
