On the morning of July 10th, the Ministry of Justice held a nationwide online conference to review the judicial work in the first 6 months of the year and to implement tasks for the remaining 6 months of 2024. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Mr. Le Thanh Long, chaired the conference.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the judicial sector has been determined and exerted efforts to vigorously implement various programs and work plans, closely following the resolutions and directives of the Party, National Assembly, Government, and Prime Minister in the areas of legal construction and enforcement, legal dissemination, legal education, inspection of legal normative documents, management of administrative violation handling, civil enforcement, state compensation, judicial administration, legal support, and legal assistance... in accordance with the socio-economic development situation of the country and each locality.
The results of the work in the first 6 months of 2024 in most areas of the Ministry and the judicial sector have increased compared to the same period in 2023, notably in: construction and improvement of legal frameworks and laws which received attention and focused implementation, achieving many positive results; many projects and drafts of legal normative documents within the jurisdiction of the sector were approved by the National Assembly and issued by the Government; appraisal of legal normative documents was emphasized to enhance quality and expedite progress; timely review and inspection of legal normative documents were carried out with a large workload, contributing to ensuring the consistency, transparency, and feasibility of the legal system; institutional frameworks in legal support and judicial administration continued to be improved to meet the requirements of anti-corruption, anti-negativity, and state management, and to streamline administrative procedures, facilitating citizens and businesses; effective organization of communication and dissemination on policies, laws, and reconciliation at the grassroots level; international legal cooperation achieved many impressive results... These results continue to significantly contribute to the socio-economic development, national defense, security, and social order of the country and each locality.

In addition to the achievements, the judicial work in the first 6 months of 2024 still faces some existing limitations and constraints such as: backlog of debts, slow issuance of detailed regulations and guidelines for law enforcement, incomplete implementation of some tasks; timely guidance in some fields has not been achieved; violations in the activities of lawyers and notaries public still occur...
At the conference, the Ministry and the judicial sector identified specific tasks for the remaining 6 months of 2024. This includes emphasizing adherence to the principles and directives of the Party, the orientation, resolutions, and directives of the National Assembly and the guiding documents of the Government, Prime Minister, Ministry, and sector. They also reaffirmed the commitment to continue implementing effectively the issued programs and work plans; enhancing the effectiveness of state management and public service quality in citizenship, nationality, authentication, state compensation, foster care, judicial records...; strengthening inspection, citizen reception, complaint resolution, and combating corruption and negativity in accordance with Party directives and legal provisions, focusing on areas prone to corruption and negativity.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long acknowledged and praised the achievements of the judicial sector in the first 6 months of the year. To successfully complete the tasks of the judicial work in the latter 6 months of 2024, he proposed that judicial agencies leverage the achievements, address existing limitations and constraints, continue to thoroughly understand, advise, and effectively implement the tasks and solutions outlined; proactively review and rectify legal normative documents and continue to discipline and reinforce the system of civil enforcement; local judicial sectors should closely follow the guidance of Party committees, local authorities, and the guidance of the Ministry and sector to fulfill their assigned tasks effectively...
