On the afternoon of October 10, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province organized the regular session for September 2024 to evaluate the directing and managing work of the provincial People's Committee in implementing the socio-economic development targets and ensuring defense and security in the first 9 months of the year, as well as to deploy the tasks for the last 3 months of 2024.
The session was co-chaired by Comrade Nguyen Tuan Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Comrade Vo Van Canh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, and Comrade H'Yim Kdoh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee.

According to the report presented at the session, in the first 9 months of 2024, the province's socio-economic situation continued to develop, with most indicators showing significant growth. Agricultural production continued to develop steadily, with favorable weather conditions and good prices, contributing to the sustainable development and promotion of agriculture in the province. The Winter-Spring crop production exceeded 20% of the set plan.
Compared to the same period last year, the total value of products in the province reached over 84,029.9 billion VND at current prices, an increase of 12.25%; the total social investment capital mobilized reached 25,576 billion VND, an increase of 3.55%; the total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached over 81,005 billion VND, an increase of 11.7%; the total state budget revenue on the province's territory reached 6,208 billion VND, an increase of 10.8%, equivalent to 73% of the provincial People's Council's estimate; the total export turnover reached 1,440 million USD, an increase of 29.2%; the province had 1,084 newly established enterprises, an increase of 0.6%; the program for building new rural areas was emphasized and implemented, with 79 out of 151 communes meeting all 19 criteria for new rural areas, reaching 52.32%, and 5 communes meeting the advanced new rural area standards, as well as 1 district-level unit meeting the advanced new rural area standards.

Disease control in humans, crops, and livestock has been controlled and is basically stable. Cultural, sports, employment, social security, and poverty reduction activities continue to be implemented, ensuring people's livelihoods. Land and mineral management and environmental protection have been given priority. Administrative reform has seen positive changes. Defense has been strengthened, ensuring sovereignty, territory, border security, political security, and social order.

In addition to the achievements, the province's socio-economic development in the first 9 months of 2024 still faces some challenges, such as the lower value of industrial production compared to the province's growth scenario; the production of some key industrial products in the province has decreased compared to the same period in 2023, such as steel down 5.5%, electricity production down 6.8%, rubber down 2.1%...; business production and operation still face difficulties, with a large number of businesses being dissolved or temporarily suspended; provincial land use fees are low; investment attraction has improved but has not met the set requirements; security and order in some areas and territories still have complex developments; violations of laws and forestry laws still occur...

Statement at the meeting, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha proposed that departments, sectors, and localities continue to review the implemented work program to proactively carry out tasks to achieve high results; focus on completing the contents and tasks of organizing the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the province; concentrate on effectively implementing the "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025" movement; enhance the role and responsibility of leaders in carrying out assigned tasks; strengthen coordination among departments and sectors in implementing targets and tasks; prepare well the contents for the upcoming sessions of the Provincial People's Council and specialized sessions; strengthen measures to increase state budget revenue, ensure accurate and sufficient collection; focus on disbursing public investment capital with high efficiency; regularly review and advise the province on budget balancing for safe and effective activities.
In addition, it is necessary to actively coordinate with ministries and sectors to expedite the approval process of the Dak Lak Provincial Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; resolutely direct and urge the progress of key projects, projects celebrating the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the province; promote administrative reform in connection with digital transformation; closely monitor weather developments, proactively and enhance the effectiveness of disaster prevention and control work; continue to strengthen the implementation of the new rural construction program; enhance forest management, protection, and development on the territory...
