On the morning of February 25, the Provincial People’s Committee hosted a working session with a delegation from the non-governmental organizations DID and SOCODEVI (Canada) regarding the cooperation plan for implementing the project "Biodiversity and Livelihood Opportunities for Ethnic Minority Women for the period 2025-2030" (referred to as the BLOOM Project) in Dak Lak Province. During the meeting, representatives from SOCODEVI and DID informed that the BLOOM Project is being cooperatively implemented with funding from the Government of Canada. According to the plan, the project will be carried out in two provinces, Dak Lak and Ha Giang, focusing on the conservation of natural habitats and native flora and fauna while also supporting the local community, such as empowering ethnic minority women and helping the community adapt to climate change based on local needs. The project aims to provide direct support to 5,000 people and indirect support to 25,000 people for better adaptation to climate change; beneficiaries will receive technical assistance and production support or will benefit from the conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity in protected areas.

In his remarks, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, requested that following the preliminary information shared during the meeting, the two organizations continue to pay attention to and promote the project for prompt approval and implementation in the province; thereby providing stable income for impoverished residents, improving the livelihood conditions for women and ethnic minority communities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality as well as enhancing the quality of life for the people..
