On the morning of August 26, a delegation from the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association in North Gyeonggi province, led by Mr. Oh Jun Hwan, a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council and Honorary Chairman of the Tourism Council and Conference of Goyang City, visited and worked with the provincial leaders.
Attending the working session were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh, leaders of departments, sectors, and localities, and the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Dak Lak Province; and the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Dak Lak Province.

At the working session, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee introduced the potential, strengths, and cooperation opportunities in areas such as trade, high-tech agriculture, education, culture, and tourism to the businesses and investors from Gyeonggi Province.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh emphasized that Dak Lak has strengths in agriculture, with key export products such as coffee, black pepper, and durian. In 2023, the province's coffee exports are expected to reach 304,064 tons, equivalent to a value of about 760 million USD; black pepper is expected to reach 25,737 tons, equivalent to over 111 million USD; and durian is expected to reach over 200,000 tons, with a value of over 100 million USD. The province's main export markets for agricultural products include the United States, the EU, China, and ASEAN countries.

In recent times, the province has received the attention, investment, and implementation of projects from some Korean businesses and sponsors operating in the province. Currently, South Korea is one of the countries that the province of Dak Lak is focusing on enhancing cooperation with. The local authorities always welcome Korean localities, organizations, and businesses to explore cooperation opportunities, business, especially in areas that the province is interested in, such as trade, tourism, culture, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, seasonal labor in agriculture, etc.

"We hope that through this working visit to Dak Lak Province, the working delegation will gain a deeper understanding of the province's potential and strengths. On behalf of the working delegation, Ms. Sin Young Yee - Chairwoman of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, Gyeonggi Branch, Deputy Head of the delegation, expressed gratitude for the warm reception of Dak Lak Province, and expressed the hope that this working visit will explore the unique cultural and tourism features, search for potential products of Dak Lak Province to enhance trade cooperation in the future; at the same time, create conditions for members of the two provinces to connect and promote cooperation and exchange of products to contribute to the socio-economic development, and build a relationship between Dak Lak Province and Gyeonggi Province that continues to develop.
*As part of the working visit, the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, Gyeonggi Branch will exchange and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the Women Entrepreneurs Association of the province; visit and enjoy durian at a garden in Krông Pắc district; visit the processing plant of An Thai Coffee Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.

The Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association was established in 1999 under Article 13 of the Korean Women's Business Support Law, being the first women's economic organization recognized by Korean law. The association implements Entrepreneurship projects for women and supports business activities, expanding markets for women-owned businesses. The association has 19 branches nationwide with 9,300 member companies. The North Gyeonggi Branch of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association was established in 2014, consisting of women entrepreneurs from 10 districts and cities in North Gyeonggi Province. The main projects of the branch include enhancing capacity, supporting market expansion, and supporting entrepreneurship. |
