The Standing Committee of the People's Council of Dak Lak Province visited and worked in Jeollabuk Province, South Korea (13/06/2024, 09:50)

From May 27th to May 31st, 2024, the working delegation of the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Dak Lak Province, led by Mr. Tran Phu Hung - Vice Chairman of the People's Council, visited and worked in the special autonomous province of Jeollabuk, South Korea, to enhance cooperation, exchange experiences in the activities of elected representatives, the operations of the people's council, and to learn about some models of economic and social development of Jeollabuk Province.

On this occasion, the working delegation paid a courtesy visit to the provincial government of Jeollabuk, led by Mr. Kim Chong Hun - Vice Governor in charge of the economy of Jeollabuk Province; and visited and worked at the Provincial Assembly of Jeollabuk, hosted by Ms. Kuk Ju Young Eun - Chairwoman of the Provincial Assembly of Jeollabuk.

On behalf of the Provincial Assembly of Jeollabuk, Ms. Kuk Ju Young Eun was delighted to welcome the working delegation of the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Dak Lak Province for their visit this year, while also introducing some general information about the province. Accordingly, Jeollabuk is located in the southwest of South Korea and is the seventh largest province in terms of area in the country; it has 14 administrative units, including 06 cities and 08 districts, with the capital city being Jeonju. The population is approximately over 1.8 million people, including more than 15 thousand Vietnamese residents in the province, consisting of laborers, workers, multicultural brides, and students...

Jeollabuk has a favorable geographical location, a developed transportation system, and tourism potential, promising to become one of the important economic, cultural, and tourist centers of South Korea in the future.

Currently, the province has established sisterhood relationships, exchanges, and cooperation with 09 foreign cities and localities. Jeollabuk has established cooperation relationships with Ca Mau Province (since 2021) and Dak Lak Province (since 2017).

Regarding the organization of the Provincial Assembly, it consists of: Chairman, 02 Vice Chairmen, 06 Standing Committees (including Committees on: Operation; Self-Management; Environment and Welfare; Agriculture and Economy; Culture, Construction, and Safety; Education) and 02 Special Committees (including Special Committee on budget settlement and Special Committee on ethics).

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Tran Phu Hung - Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Dak Lak Province conveyed the regards and wishes for good health from Ms. Huynh Thi Chien Hoa - Chairwoman of the People's Council of Dak Lak Province to Chairwoman Kuk Ju Young Eun; and expressed joy at the first visit to the special autonomous province of Jeollabuk.

Mr. Tran Phu Hung expressed the hope that through this trip, the two units will enhance exchanges, cooperation, directly exchange, and learn more experiences in the activities of elected representatives and people's councils to better fulfill their roles and tasks.

The authorities of the two provinces will continue to pay attention and promote comprehensive cooperation to enhance mutual understanding, bring practical benefits to the people of the two provinces; and both sides will endeavor to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea.

On this occasion, Mr. Tran Phu Hung - Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Dak Lak Province cordially invited Ms. Kuk Ju Young Eun and her colleagues to visit and work in Dak Lak Province in the near future.
