To establish VCCI Buon Ma Thuot (19/04/2016, 08:16)

On April 14, Dak Lak PPC had a meeting with the delegation from Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Da Nang Branch (VCCI Da Nang) led by Mr. Nguyen Dien – Deputy Director of VCCI Da Nang with the aim of learning about enterprise support policies, Dak Lak’s economic development over the last period and proposing the policy to establish a branch of VCCI in Buon Ma Thuot. Attending the meeting were Mr. Y Dham Enuol- Standing Vice Chairman of Dak Lak PPC and representatives of relevant Department and sectors.

At the meeting, the PPC said the total number of registered enterprises in the province was 9,112 with 8,693 private enterprises, accounting for 95.4 percent at the end of March 2016. Moreover, there are 1,194 branches of enterprises in various provinces and cities registering their operation in Dak Lak. Total registered capital of enterprises is estimated at VND 32,837 billion. The average registered capital of an enterprise is VND 3.65 billion. At present, many enterprise support policies have been issued by the PPC including: preferential policies on land using of socialization projects in the fields of education, vocational training, health care, culture, sports and environment. Percentage to determine land rental rates in the province has also been issued under the direction in adjustment of percentage decrease to reduce the land rental rates for enterprises. In addition, according to Decree No. 56/2009/ND-CP dated June 30th, 2009 of the Government on support for small and medium-sized enterprises, Dak Lak PPC issued a Plan to develop small and medium-sized enterprises in the period of 2011- 2015. The Provincial People's Council promulgated Resolution No.27/2011/NQ-HDND dated December 22nd, 2011 on supporting policies to encourage investment in the province for the period of 2012-2015. Simultaneously, the Provincial People's Council keeps the weekly and annual meetings and dialogues with enterprises, investors.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Y Dham Enuol-Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC appreciated effective contributions of VCCI Da Nang in assisting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, training members, improving the provincial competitiveness index. Regarding the policy on establishment of VCCI’s branch in Buon Ma Thuot directly under VCCI Da Nang, the PPC completely agrees with the requirements of VCCI Da Nang. In the coming time, the PPC will direct relevant Departments, sectors to support in setting up working office to facilitate training activities and support local enterprises in particular and enterprises of the provinces in the Central Highlands in general. VCCI Da Nang needs to speed up building up working regulations, providing information, agreements between VCCI Da Nang and Dak Lak PPC, relevant Departments and sectors to promote the efficiency of supporting activities for enterprises.

For his part, Mr. Nguyen Dien-Deputy Director of VCCI Da Nang said that besides issuing polices and implementing capital solutions, training human resources, the PPC should maintain the staff to actively research, evaluate a number of enterprise support policies to assist the province in proactively building up the annual action plan.

Reportedly, VCCI is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization which performs activities to improve the business environment at localities nationwide. VCCI headquartered in Ha Noi has nine branches and representative offices in the provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City, Can Tho, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan. Currently, VCCI Da Nang has signed a cooperation agreement with Dak Lak Trade and Investment Promotion Center, Department of Planning and Investment. It is expected that in the near future, VCCI Da Nang will sign a cooperation agreement with Dak Lak Provincial Department of Home Affairs with the aim of training social and supporting skills for cadres, officials and public servants in administrative agencies in the province.
