On the morning of February 9th in the Coffee City urban area, Trung Nguyen Legend Group held the Tree Planting Ceremony, combining with awarding the winners of the 2022 Rượu Cần (straw liquor) Brewing Contest. This is the 5th time that the Coffee City has held the Tree Planting Ceremony on the 9th day of the first lunar month every year, combining with many special cultural activities such as awarding the winners of the Rượu Cần Brewing Contest and giving life-changing books to the people on the occasion of Lunar New Year.

The Coffee City urban area, the project with an area of 45.45 hectares, contains the enthusiasm of Trung Nguyen Legend Group. With the mission to realize the aspiration of making Buon Ma Thuot become the global coffee capital and making Dak Lak Province become the destination of more than 2.5 billion coffee lovers around the world, Trung Nguyen Legend wishes to contribute to the community by creating a model and developing a harmonious lifestyle based on the core sector of Dak Lak Province.

The Coffee City has created a green landscape for the community thanks to the tree planting program for 5 consecutive years

After one year, despite many difficulties due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Trung Nguyen Legend has handed over houses for phase 1 at the end of 2021 and early 2022 according to the schedule and quality as promised to their customers, thereby helping the owners of the houses celebrated the Lunar New Year in the most livable and civilized urban area.

With the orientation of becoming The Model City - The Awakening Community and the foresight of Trung Nguyen Legend, the Coffee City has held the Tree Planting Ceremony for consecutive 5 years on the 9th day of the first lunar month every year. It is the Coffee City that is the first urban area in Viet Nam to implement the initiative of planting 1 billion trees launched by the Government. This meaningful cultural activity has been supported by many departments, agencies and the local community. Thousands of trees have been planted on the internal roads of the Coffee City according to the regulations on management of urban green space, including many precious trees such as: bodhi, bamboo, champaca, cinnamon, golden oak...

In addition to pioneering tree-planting, the Coffee City also has developed a program to plant medicinal plants for the houses’ owners. Instead of maximizing the area of construction land to increase profits, Trung Nguyen Legend use large areas of the median strips on internal roads for creating landscapes and medicinal gardens for the residents. Here, many world-famous coffees such as Robusta, Arabica and Catimor are planted along with hundreds of medicinal plants such as plantago, rosemary, Crinum latifolia, and vegetables.

 “Bodhi tree is a very popular plant in Vietnamese culture. However, for urban planning, it is rarely chosen by investors because it has a wide canopy, which is not optimal for construction land. However, you can see the ancient bodhi trees everywhere in the Coffee City. When I look at them, I can tell Vietnamese cultural stories to my children. If I need a rosemary, I can also find it in Zen gardens or in the median strips. It is these small things that really bring humanity value for the benefit of the community”, shared Ms. Thu Hang, a resident of the Coffee City.

During the Tree Planting Ceremony of Lunar New Year 2022, the Coffee City planted trees such as dracontomelon, tamarind and bodhi on the internal roads. This both helps to create a landscape and provides clean food for the residents. Also within the framework of the Tree Planting Ceremony, the World of Coffee Museum awarded the winners of the 2022 Rượu Cần Brewing Contest in order to honor and recreate the quintessence of indigenous culture and create a unique highlight for the community. This event was highly appreciated by domestic and foreign visitors who came to Buon Ma Thuot City for their spring travel.

 “The activities to recreate the local cultural quintessence at the World of Coffee Museum and the Coffee City on the occasion of the Lunar New Year are really meaningful and creative. In addition to the annual Rượu Cần Brewing Contest, the Lunar New Year pole-erecting ceremony of ethnic groups in Dak Lak Province is held to help visitors to learn about the typical culture of different ethnic groups. I can learn about the festival of the Ba Na people only through a Lunar New Year pole,” said Mr. Tuan Anh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

With an area of 45.45 hectares but a construction density of only 27%, Trung Nguyen Legend focuses on building unique facilities in the Coffee City to help residents to create a healthy lifestyle and bring about a comprehensive wealth of Body - Heart – Mind. In addition, many activities are also held to help local culture to develop in harmony with world cultural quintessence values to create the awakening community.
