Dak Lak PPC on March 25 had a working session with Vingroup Joint Stock Company (Vingroup JSC) to hear its report on the implementation and completion of the shopping mall in Buon Ma Thuot City as well as results of seeking investment opportunities of the province. The meeting was held with the presence of Mr. Y Bier Nie – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Dak Lak PPC; Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh – Vice Chairman of Dak Lak PPC; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha – Vice Chairman of Dak Lak PPC; representatives of departments, sectors in the province. Representing Vingroup were Mr. Le Khac Hiep – Vice Chairman of the Management Board and members of working delegation.

At the meeting, the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment presented the overview of potentials, investment opportunities and orientations of Dak Lak province to attract investors in the near future. Dak Lak, located in the heart of Central Highlands, has a strategically advantageous position. Moreover, transportation infrastructure and power supply of the province are quite complete. Over the past few years, the export activity has had many positive changes. The enterprises in the province has exported to 60 countries and territories with a large quantity of various products and achieved annual export turnover of more than US$700 million.

Regarding human resources – the factor is received much attention by investors. At present, the province has a large number of labour forces with over 900,000 people including 400,000 trained workers. In addition, the province has thousands of students graduating from the local universities, colleges and vocational schools every year.

With the aim of boosting investment attraction, Dak Lak province will continue expanding markets, fields focusing on potential markets and powerful economic groups. The investment fields will be given priority such as: production and processing of agricultural products; large-scale cattle breeding projects in association with food processing industry; investment in the construction of supermarkets, shopping malls, five-star hotel complexes, schools and educational institutions, etc.

To attract investment, preferential policies related to land, financial support and infrastructure have been implemented. Especially, investors in agricultural projects will receive the reduction of 50-70 per cent for land use fee on the basis of each project’s content and scale.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Vingroup Le Khac Hiep said that Vingroup is a multi-sector business group and well experiences in trading investment. Vingroup highly appreciated potentials and strength of Dak Lak province and hoped to be received assistance and support of the province to develop the fields of entertainment and trading.

For his part, Chairman of Dak Lak PPC Pham Ngoc Nghi spoke highly of business results of Vingroup and welcomed the group to invest in Dak Lak province. The Chairman expressed his hope that Vingroup would continue to make surveys and learn about investment opportunities of the province. He also proposed Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Construction to support and provide more information related to investment, preferential investment policies and investment locations for the group.
