On the morning of April 28^th, the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize a conference on promoting investment in agriculture in Dak Lak Province in 2022.

Participants of ministries and sectors in the conference included Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien and leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Participants in the conference also included representatives of embassies of 15 countries; representatives of international delegations; leaders of the People's Committees, the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Departments of Planning and Investment of 25 provinces and cities; and more than 200 representatives of associations, industries, enterprises, domestic and foreign investors, and major domestic e-commerce exchanges.

With the theme "Attracting investment and developing a sustainable commodity-concentrated agriculture in association with processing and product consumption", the conference aimed to introduce to enterprises and investors about the current situation, potentials and strengths for agricultural development and agro-forestry-fishery processing in Dak Lak Province. It also aimed to create a forum for international organizations, investors, and domestic and foreign enterprises to meet each other and strengthen cooperation. In addition, it aimed to attract economic sectors to invest in agriculture and agro-forestry-fishery processing in the Province.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province, emphasized that Dak Lak Province has a lot of potentials and advantages to develop agro-forestry-fishery production in association with developing the processing and product consumption industry and eco-tourism in order to create the value chain of key agricultural products of the Province, region and Viet Nam.

According to statistics, the agricultural production value (at current prices) in 2021 was approximately 75 trillion VND, increasing by more than 1.4 times compared to 2015. The average growth rate of agriculture in the 2016-2020 period reached 5.64%/year, 1.5 times higher than the national average. Many large-scale commodity-concentrated production areas were formed and developed. The OCOP program was promoted with 72 OCOP products with 3-4 star rating.

On the basis of the available potentials and advantages, for the 2020-2025 tenure, the Party Committee of Dak Lak Province has identified 6 key tasks. In particular, agriculture has developed towards high quality. Development of organic agriculture has been prioritized. Agriculture has been linked with tourism. High-tech agriculture has been developed according to the value chain, and the processing industry has been connected with the market. Moreover, the above potentials, advantages and development orientations have been concretized in the Dak Lak Province Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, and the Socio-economic Development Plan for the 2021- 2025 period. Annually, the Province allocates resources for synchronous and unified implementation. The Province has also been building a strong political system and dynamic and creative staff in order to make Dak Lak Province an attractive destination for domestic and international investors.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that in order to make the most effective use of potential and advantages, Dak Lak Province and investors in the Province's agriculture need to closely cooperate with central ministries, sectors and localities to well perform contents and tasks. It is necessary to effectively implement the contents of the agricultural restructuring project. Based on the actual conditions of the Province, it is necessary to propose a list of advanced agricultural production models and hi-tech agriculture models that are suitable to local conditions. It is also necessary to attract investment from large enterprises, corporations and strategic partners in agriculture and rural areas. In addition, it is necessary to improve capacity on research, forecast, and market connectivity in order to orient production, promote brand, promote trade, and seek output markets for the Province's agricultural products.

Within the framework of the conference on promoting investment in agriculture in Dak Lak Province in 2022, there were 6 projects with a total capital of nearly 1,100 billion VND that were issued decisions on investment policy.

The People's Committee of Dak Lak Province also signed MOUs on investment cooperation with 24 projects with an estimated total investment of VND 25,672 billion in the fields: high-tech animal husbandry and cultivation; processing agricultural and forestry products; processing fruit, medicinal herbs, and animal feed; concentrated slaughter of livestock and poultry; and logistics.

At this conference, Dak Lak Province informed enterprises the list of projects and areas attracting investment in agriculture, agro-forestry-fishery processing in Dak Lak Province with 109 projects in the following field: cultivation; breed; seafood; forestry; agriculture associated with eco-tourism; agro-forestry-fishery processing; production links along a sustainable value chain…
