Press conference announces socio-economic statistics for first 6 months of 2021 (13/07/2021, 15:28)

On the morning of June 29th, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Statistics organized a press conference to announce the situation of socio-economic development for first 6 months of 2021. Participants in the press conference included Mr. Do Tan Xuan – Director of the Provincial Department of Statistics and heads of related departments and agencies.

In the first 6 months of 2021, by implementing the “dual target” with high determination and effort of different levels, agencies, enterprises, and people of ethnic groups in the region, the socio-economic situation of Dak Lak Province continued changing positively. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the Province reached 22,223.7 billion VND, increasing 9.11% compared with the previous period and is the highest increase for a 6-month period in two years (7.56% in 2019 and 3.41% in 2020).

Specifically, Dak Lak Province continued maintaining its status as a significant region increasing industrial production indeces in the first 6 months of 2021. Indeces of electric power and fuel gas production and distribution industries increased 131.29% compared to the previous period as the capacity of electric power notably increased, especially wind power and solar power. The capacity of electric power production reached 1,209 million kwh, increasing by 50.43%; electric power for commercial production reached 1,040 million kwh, increasing by 4.88%.

GRDP in the Province increased by 9.11%

Turnover in agriculture and forestry reached 6,250.8 billion VND, increasing by 3.82%, obtaining up to 28.03% of the proposal, contributing with 1.13 of percentage point to common growth speed; turnover in industry and construction gained 3,988.5 billion VND, increasing by 38.66%, obtaining up to 38.17% of the proposal, contributing with 5.46 of percentage point; service industry turnover reached 10,966.2 billion VND, increasing by 5.16%, obtaining up to 39.23% of the proposal, contributing with 2.64 of percentage point.

Gross retail sales of goods and services reached 43,876 billion VND, increasing by 11.7%. Total State budget collection was 3,486.1 billion VND, increasing by 6.57%. Bank operations continued to be strengthened. Total mobilized capital was estimated at 54,500 billion VND, increasing by 3.34% compared with early year, increasing by 13.4% compared with the same period.

In the first 6 months, there were 5 cases of COVID-19 in the Province, four of them have recovered. Those who are beneficiaries according to Governmental Resolution No. 21 have received COVID-19 vaccines with approximately 33,000 doses.

Cultural, sport and tourism activities were also adjusted conforming to the effective implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures. In the first 6 months, there were 17,329 visitors to the province, increasing by 18.36% in comparison with the same period of 2020. Social order and safety were well controlled and national defense and security were stable.
In education and training, in the first 6 months of 2021 the Province successfully organized the 10th grade admission examination for the 2021-2022 school year.

The medical examination and health care for local people continues to be a concern.

At the press conference, the Provincial Department of Statistics and representatives of related agencies answered and clarified the contents that press agencies asked about including: issues on the turnover in tourism; employment and unemployment insurance; administrative innovation; post and telecommunications; and figures in digital transformation and propaganda on the 2nd instalment of the economic census in 2021 which will take place between the 1st and 30th of July 2021 in the Province.
