The King and Queen of the Netherlands will visit Dak Lak at the end of March 2024 (24/01/2024, 15:42)

On the morning of January 24, the advance delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, led by Mr. Eric Verwall, Deputy Secretary-General of the Royal Court, had a working session with the People's Committee of Dak Lak province on the preparations for the official visit of the King and Queen to the province at the end of March 2024.

Attendees at the working session included Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Provincial Party Secretary, and Mr. Vo Van Canh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, co-chairing the reception. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Kees Van Baar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam, Mr. Daniel Stork, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, and leaders of relevant departments, branches, and units.

At the working session, the provincial leaders provided an overview of the socio-economic development situation, development potential, and investment attraction areas in the coming time. Dak Lak province is striving to build Buon Ma Thuot City into the "World Coffee City" and is leveraging existing potentials and advantages. In recent years, the province has continuously expanded friendly relations and cooperation with localities in various countries around the world under the motto "proactive, flexible, creative, and effective" to contribute to the socio-economic development and improve the lives of the people.

In addition, the province has received attention, investment, and implementation of projects from some Dutch enterprises and sponsors on the local area. These projects have contributed, together with the local authorities, to addressing issues related to education, poverty reduction, social development, and assistance related to agriculture and rural areas, providing knowledge and supporting the transfer of sustainable production techniques adaptable to climate change.

To ensure careful and safe reception, the advance delegation discussed and exchanged with the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on some preparation tasks, such as airport reception, accommodation selection, visits to coffee production projects sponsored by the Netherlands, and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation in agriculture. They will also meet with ethnic minority women to inspire the community at the World Coffee Museum and hold a press conference at the Dak Lak Museum.

Speaking at the reception, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung - Provincial Party Secretary expressed joy and honor in welcoming the King and Queen to visit at the end of March 2024. He hoped that through the information exchange during this advance delegation, they would convey to the King and Queen about the majestic nature, friendly people, hospitality, and cultural identity of Dak Lak province. The province will continue to coordinate with the central authorities to ensure a well-prepared and successful reception for the King and Queen

*Immediately after the working session with the provincial leaders, the advance delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands will survey and work with the provincial museum to discuss relevant protocols. They will visit the Sustainable Agriculture Cooperative in Cu Sue, hamlet 3, Cu Sue commune, Cu M'gar district. They will also meet with the Buon Ma Thuot Airport to discuss control/flight programs as well as customs procedures for the royal couple and the delegation.
