On May 10, a delegation of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC), led by Vice President Bui Thi Thanh, worked with Dak Lak Provincial Election Committee (PEC) to supervise and inspect preparations for the elections of the 14th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Council deputies at all levels in the 2016 – 2021 term with the presence of Pham Minh Tan – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Vice President of PEC as well as members of PEC.

According to the report of PEC, there are all 200 election committees in the entire province including one provincial-level committee, 15 district-level committees, and 184 commune-level committees. 1,791 election boards have been established including three election boards of NA, 23 election boards of Provincial-Level People's Council, 169 Election Boards of district-level People's Council, and 1,596 election boards of commune-level People's Council.
Up to now, the province has announced the official list of 11 candidates nominated as 14th NA deputies, 141 candidates nominated as provincial-level People's Council deputies, 947 candidates nominated as district-level People's Council deputies and 9,311 candidates for commune-level People's Council deputies.
Dak Lak province has the total number of 1.262.174 voters, including 628,437 male voters and 633,737 female voters. The election preparations of deputies to the 14th NA and People’s Council at all levels have basically completed. Voters list has been posted at the headquarters of 184 communes, wards, towns and public areas.
Tasks relating to election work have been assigned to relevant Subcommittees. Especially, functional forces need to proactively prevent, discover and promptly neutralize all sabotage activities and plans of hostile forces as well as fight against crimes to strengthen security - social order and safety before, during and after the election. Complaints and denunciations in relation to election work need to be settled. Information and propaganda activities have been implemented through Dak Lak Radio - Television Station, Daklak newspaper, Dak Lak provincial portal, newsletter of all branches, etc…
After hearing the report of PEC, the delegation of VFFCC made a request for more details about the propaganda for ethnic minorities, preparation for election locations in remote areas as well as ensuring organizational proportion of ethnic minorities, religions, sexes for the candidates of NA and People’s Council at all levels, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, VFFCC Vice President Bui Thi Thanh highly appreciated preparations of election for deputies to 14th NA and People’s Council in Dak Lak. She said, Dak Lak PEC timely directed, guided and urged localities to closely follow regulations of law, guiding documents on election. Security work for election has basically been deployed as prescribed by law.
To successfully organize election which is considered a festival of all people, the Vice President has directed the PEC to continuously cooperate with Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels to hold meetings between candidates and voters and electioneer legally, to strengthen election inspection and supervision, to set up inspection delegations to supervise and urge the election at localities in line with law. Moreover, information and propaganda activities about election day should be further notified, especially for ethnic minorities to help them understand their rights and obligations.

On behalf of PEC, Mr. Pham Minh Tan expressed his thanks tocomments of the inspection delegation. He proposed the delegation of VFFCC to report to Central Election Council for adding budget for the province.
